The 2026 census starts today. 25% of households will receive the long-form version. It goes beyond basic short-form questions with ~70 total items on: Demographics & Identity: Age, gender, ethnic origins, Indigenous identity, visible minorities, religion, sexual orientation (15+) Immigration & Mobility: Birthplace, citizenship, year of immigration, recent moves Education & Work: Highest schooling, field of study, job details, occupation, industry, commuting (including hybrid/remote & e-bikes) Income & Housing: Earnings, child care costs, shelter costs, dwelling condition, experiences of homelessness Health: General health + disabilities (seeing, hearing, mobility, mental health, etc.) New/Expanded: Military service, homelessness details Answer truthfully, the government needs this data to plan better ways to control your lives.

Dilemma. What do I do with these embroidered pillowcases ? They were given to my mom at her wedding. They were embroidered by her grandma, my great great grandma. My mom never used them because /she “couldn’t ever replace them” after her grandma passed. She kept them in the linen closet in the house I grew up in. She gave them to me when I got married and yes, I’ve also kept them unused in my linen closet for 20 years. I don’t want to get rid of them (I won’t). Do I use them or keep them safely store me for future generations to not use, either?
