On July 9, 2026, the EMGS submitted comments in response to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Proposed Rule, Regulation for Federal Financial Assistance, (Uniform Guidance). Our comments stated that most EMGS members, including those employed in government agencies and U.S. universities, are dependent on U.S. Government funding for their research, and for this reason we believe OMB-2026-0034 would substantially undermine the work of our society. Yesterday afternoon, following our Board of Directors review and approval, FASEB submitted comments on the Office of Management and Budget Docket Number OMB-2026-0034, Uniform Guidance (hubs.ly/Q04p3bMl0). With 4 and a half days left, we urge all stakeholders to submit your comments. Together, we can explain how and why the proposed rule would negatively impact science, US taxpayers, scientists, institutions, and scholarly societies. To make this easy for you, don’t forget our freely available tool crafts a draft response you should customize, making it easier than ever to send a message: Defend Research | FASEB (hubs.ly/Q04p30Cx0).
