This study is important for those of us reducing these fractures in the ED. Maybe sedation and closed reduction of displaced distal radius fractures in young children isn't always necessary after all.
Dan Perry@MrDanPerry

A 5-year-old boy falls off a climbing frame and lands on his wrist. Should you reduce the fracture - or simply put it in a nice cast and let it remodel? Until now, people might have had strong views about this, but no-one really knew. 👇

Should we pause anti-coagulation to reduce the risk of delayed intracranial haemorrhage in anti-coagulated patients with head injury after a normal CT head? 'Probably not' according to data presented by Dr Patrick Oliver at #EUSEM2025 on behalf of @EMROxResearch.

Regional anaesthesia for hip fracture "Ultimately, the aim should not be to chase the ‘perfect’ block, but to find a patient-centred, pragmatic approach that delivers timely and lasting analgesia, minimises harm and can be scaled up for delivery by generalist clinicians in the acute setting." @126liam @TraumaDataDoc #anaesthesia #pain #regionalanaesthesia #regionalanesthesia #MedTwitter doi.org/10.1111/anae.1…

Every effort has been made to try & improve the care for these patients, but by their nature they have comorbidities & ongoing risks. This impressive study confirms the rate of complications is high & that they may be procedure related. #Trauma #BJJ boneandjoint.org.uk/Article/10.130…
