Picking away at cards and playtesting updates for Brigade Commander. This is really going on the backburner as I have much larger fish to fry right now, but hopefully it'll get there in the next few months.

Jaws of the Dragon was run last weekend in Denmark, for the first time without me running it. By all accounts went extremely well! Big thank you to @Thomas_DangerRI and @NatanPawlowski for facilitating the game, and hopefully it's opened some students eyes to wargaming!

Having both Truth Social and the normal press website was a good addition for this one, with some degree of policy by tweet occuring, and the game overall was a good time for the players. I'll start uploading the updated files as I am able to over the next month.

The Chinese got a couple of kilometers inland before being stoped, and PLA air assault forces ended up surrendering in the face of Taiwanese counterattacks (though PLAAF air interdiction was nasty).

Photos from the KCL Crisis Sim. With a Chinese blockade in place, President Trump started the war with a massive strike on Chinese SCS bases. A good Joint Firepower Strike plus shocking effective cyber on INDOPACOM's logistics system put the air war solidly in favor the Chinese.

After the game I'll get around to updating the game files on the website as I've done tweaks and touch ups to a lot of the game over the past several months.

Almost finished up with prep for tomorrow's game. Printer has now run out of yellow ink and won't print, but the last few things to be printed were non-essentials anyway.

Tonights wargame was planning a NEO and embassy evacuation from Taiwan. They had to draw up a Emergency Action Plan for the American Institute in Taiwan and then red-team it. Both team's plans took some different approaches, but each time I run it I get something interesting!

@drwictz That's a wild concindence! I've only ever met 3 other cables people in my life, but none of them are wargamers (which I guess that makes us part of an elite group...).

Slightly less serious wargaming tonight as people pitched failed Cold War projects from the reasonable to the utterly insane in Shark Tank/Dragon's Den game. As designer I got to sneak in my favorites of the Rocket Belt, RDL Light Tank (aka T2000's LAV-75), and the VZ-8 Airgeep.

@EM_DAlessandro I'm a programmer, so the idea was to make it a collection of web app tools, although some manual clicking around would be necessary.

The issue with real maps instead of terrain by hex is that people can have different opinions on the dominant terrain in the hex. My genius solution to players (and officers...) being unable to read maps: go by hand hex-by-hex to label the # of units that can use the terrain.

@NathanWailes Exciting! Is it going to be digital tools or manual? I've been playing in/working on some games recently that have play from the tactical through to grand strategic by aggregating rulesets upwards or using multiple rulesets, so I'm increasingly interested in this sort of stuff.

@EM_DAlessandro both, just various tools for wargamers and designers to better visualize what is going on in the games they're playing, like printable visualizations of what a single hex in the game you're playing might look like at a lower level of abstraction

@NathanWailes Mapping or unit sizes? Either way I'll be very interested to see your work!
