First time me and both my carers met together as a team. Feel very lucky to have these amazing women helping me live safely in my own home for the first time in half a decade #TeamEllie @ENACareGroup

This week’s achievement - ordering a pastry in a cafe (I usually bring my own snack but am going away next week so ED service suggested being able to “grab a pastry”) - anxious AF but my carer Nyasha also put herself out of her comfort zone with her first scone! @ENACareGroup

Less than 2 weeks into life with an @ENACareGroup live in carer and I’m already so much calmer than I’ve been in years because my time is my own, and access to my home and safety is not limited. So calm I’ve even managed to sit still enough to rekindle my old hobby of henna!

Dementia can affect a person’s ability to discriminate between colours. Using a contrasting colour to the walls for handrails or bannisters can help them stand out and prompt use. Avoid bold patterns or stripes, stick to a single block of colour @alzscot @S_D_W_G @NDCAN_Scotland
