Hi, I’m Shawn Cotter, the person who posted the original Rickroll on 4chan in 2007.
In 2011, I publicly confirmed this in the now-famous Reddit AMA posted from my Rettocs account. My social media accounts are linked in the video description of the original rickroll on YouTube.

Shawn @EOTflash , the og creator of RICKROLL has agreed to me sharing this short email conversation we just had about the scam @BadirishTrades launched earlier tonight.
To be clear, even if Shawn is receiving creator fees for the OG Rickroll on Pump that I work on, he’s totally free to do whatever he wants in crypto.
What is wrong here is for someone to falsely use Shawn’s name to steal money from CT.
This is why people can’t trust meme coins. Honest devs get a bad rep because of people like @BadirishTrades .
And if you don’t believe the screenshot, just check my profile. I’ve done an interview with Shawn. Our conversations are traceable on Reddit, from his official Reddit account, confirmed by his famous AMA post he did years ago.

Kinda sad @Pumpfun doesn’t do anything against stuff like this. To sell hype is one thing, but to straight lie and pretend to have the creator on board when you don’t, that’s crossing a line.
