#FridayFeature! 📸 🦺🚜 It’s Canadian Agricultural Safety Week! 🚜🦺 #DYK EPAA farmers and farm crews are continuing their first aid training as part of a shared commitment to safety on PEI farms? ⛑️  Let’s all do our part to keep farms safe, healthy, sustainable & successful!

Ultimately, the goal of this project is to determine the nitrogen credit that growers should factor into their potato fertility programs, to avoid excess nitrogen application while maintaining or growing marketable yields! 🥔

As a part of #AgLivingLab #PEI, researchers at PEI Potatoes are working with @AAFC_Canada and the @InfoPEI to measure how much nitrogen these forage legumes contribute to potatoes & how winter-terminated fall cover crops might help retain even more nutrients.

#DYK Our socioeconomic work looks at how beneficial management practices affect farm profitability, off-farm social benefits, and the real-world barriers and incentives farmers consider when deciding whether to adopt them.

Federal funding plays an important role in making these cross-province connections possible. By supporting partnerships that bring farmers, researchers, and organizations together, it encourages collaboration, practical problem-solving, and idea sharing across provinces. 👏
