The NDC is working towards adopting Consensus for ALL elective positions ranging from Presidential, Gubernatorial, Senatorial, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly Seats across the country. This is the purpose of the inauguration of the Selection Committee that is saddled with the responsibility of thoroughly consulting and making final recommendations for single candidacy for all offices. The Committee will transmit its decision to the Aspirants for adoption. However, where such fails for whatever reason, then elections shall be conducted for such isolated cases. On a personal level, I totally agree with this decision of the party because it is a very young (5 months old) party that cannot afford to be thrown into rigorous, divisive, and cost-intensive primaries at this point. May NDC succeed! ✌

Pastor Adefarasin: Nigeria Is Dead + Tinubu: I’ve Lost Weight + Shettima’s 2012 Speech Resurfaces Pastor Paul Adefarasin of House on the Rock stirred debate after declaring during a May 17th sermon that Nigeria is dead, arguing that anyone whose wealth is measured in naira is poor. Meanwhile, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu sparked reactions after publicly revealing that his economic reforms have impacted him personally, stating he’s lost sleep and weight over the country’s challenges. It comes as a 2012 video of Vice President Kashim Shettima from his time as Governor of Borno State resurfaced, showing him becoming emotional while criticizing Goodluck Jonathan’s handling of Boko Haram attacks. Nigerians are asking: Where is that vocal Shettima now? Watch What’s Trending With @OjyOkpe

Peter Obi and kwankwaso will not sit back and watch terrorists have a field day. Certainly no. A vote for NDC ✅ is saying yes to security if lives and property of citizens.

This is how Kwankwasia defend their votes, they don’t go about asking Kwankwaso how he plans to defend their votes, they do the defending themselves.

My final engagement before leaving Capetown for Johannesburg yesterday, I had the privilege of meeting two distinguished former leaders, President Ian Khama of Botswana and President Thabo Mbeki of South Africa, before departing Cape Town for Johannesburg yesterday. This meeting was an opportunity for me to express my heartfelt appreciation for their positive comments on the recent immigration issues in the region and their continued advocacy for peace and unity among African nations. Both Mr Khama and Mr Mbeki continue to hold significant respect across the continent due to their remarkable contributions, both during and after their presidencies. During my audience with Mr Mbeki, I also reconnected with my good friend, former Ekiti State Governor Dr Kayode Fayemi, who delivered a keynote address at the Thabo Mbeki Africa Day lecture, focusing on the themes of rebuilding unity and revitalising institutions throughout the continent. This event was organised by the Thabo Mbeki Foundation. -PO

You could see the genuine happiness on Peter Obi’s face after Justice Crack was finally released. Beyond the politics, it was a human moment. A man who was detained simply for speaking up about the welfare of soldiers finally regained his freedom, and Peter Obi quietly played a role behind the scenes in making that happen. What touched me even more was how he stayed in contact with Justice’s wife throughout that difficult period, encouraging her and giving her hope when things seemed uncertain and even offered financial support in his own little way. For me, moments like this say a lot about the kind of leadership Nigeria deserves. A country where citizens are not punished for asking questions, criticizing the government, or demanding better living conditions. A country where freedom of speech is respected and the rule of law actually means something. If there’s one thing this moment showed, it’s that Peter Obi believes no Nigerian should be left behind or silenced for using their voice. #NigeriaWillBeOk
