It will also facilitate diverse stakeholder engagement, and support modeling options in energy transitions. It will tailor insights to community priorities, offering clear, customizable data to balance local needs with project outcomes. --

The project (~$40,000 funding) proposed by Oak Ridge Associated Universities, Inc. (ORAU) supports the development of a community tool that will highlight energy trade-offs in societal benefits and costs.

The team will create this new hub to leverage existing expertise, develop needed resources, and offer unbiased technical assistance to communities across Idaho. Dr. Stephanie Lenhart with the Energy Policy Institute is the principal investigator for the three-year project.

The hub will connect Tribal, state, and county governments in Idaho with the resources needed to make community-driven and fact-based energy infrastructure planning and siting decisions.

Alaska Conservation Foundation ($135k) will address consent in decision-making within the mining sector. Utah State (〜$79k) will investigate community health & wellbeing aspects of consent-based decision-making for future infrastructure projects in coal-dependent communities.
