I believe that we will win 🪷 Leader with #KCTenants, advocate of #DebtJubilee, Housing is a Human Right!

Something the left needs to grapple with is that there is simply no way around the need to win supermajorities in Congress, especially the Senate. You will need supermajorities to pass big, ambitious change (yes, even in a post-filibuster Senate) and to make it stick -- look no further than Biden, who has seen most of his agenda undone or rolled back. You will also need supermajorities as insurance against midterm losses. If a Democratic president loses control of the Senate in the first midterm, not only will their legislative agenda be hamstrung, they also lose the ability to confirm justices and shift SCOTUS to a liberal majority. And yes, even with court reform. It would backfire big time to create a bunch of new judicial vacancies, lose the Senate, and let Republicans obstruct until they have a chance to fill them. Filling vacancies simply takes time, and Democrats will almost certainly need to control the Senate for more than just two years to shift the balance of the courts. And if you don't shift the balance of the courts, they will just strike down or gut whatever legislation you pass.

🚨House Democrats just voted 103-98, with 10 voting "present," to eliminate all aid to Israel. Proposing this a few years ago would practically have gotten you censured. Cutting off all aid to Israel is now the majority position inside the House Democratic caucus. Nearly every Republican voted with Israel, making the final vote 314 - 104 in favor of Israel (with 10 present).

Can AOC take on the blob? Democratic insurgents are fighting to reshape the party’s foreign-policy platform at a moment when the world matters a lot to voters. But the most popular Democrat of a generation, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, has kept a low profile on global affairs — until recently. For @ForeignPolicy, I spoke with 25 current and former advisors, progressive activists, and think tank experts to map out her views on the Middle East, Latin America, and the world after Trump...

Jeffries writes to Dem colleagues that he will be opposing Massie amendment to approps bill that would cut off all aid to Israel >>>

Dems have only 26 red to blue candidates for the House, barely a third of whom could be coded as genuine economic populists. There's a bunch of horsesh*t coming down the pike because Dem insiders worry they will blow the midterms

so far at least, i'm pretty sure AI has been net job-creating. this was not what i expected--although i was much less pessimistic than others, i thought by this level of capability we'd have seen some impact. it is possible this direction keeps going!

Reason #1,000,000,000,000 why we should tax the rich.
