Excellent Read - Moments of Inspiration: the 20th YPFDJ Conference; by Dawit Gebremichael *"...I have attended many conferences over the years in different parts of the world and across different industries. Many are informative. Some are inspiring. Few are transformative. This was one of those rare moments when you could see the connection between the past, present, and future with clarity. I saw a generation that understands its history but is not confined by it. A generation that is open to learning but grounded in identity. A generation that recognizes that the future is not something to wait for, but something to build". *"...Throughout the conference, I had the opportunity to listen and learn from elder leadership, including Ambassadors and seasoned national representatives who have dedicated their lives to the service of Eritrea. Their presence was not symbolic. It was instructive. They spoke with the weight of experience and forward-looking vision that recognized the central role of youth in shaping the nation’s future. Equally inspiring were the young Heads of Mission and youth leaders who stood at the intersection of responsibility and action. They represented a generation that is not waiting for direction but is actively shaping outcomes. Their command of issues, their discipline in execution, and their clarity of purpose reflected something deeper than individual ambition. It reflected a collective consciousness". shabait.com/2026/04/11/mom…

The Potemkin Party's disinformation pendulum appears to swing between two poles these days. On the one-hand, the PP continues to ramp up its monotonous, albeit toxic, tone on the imperative for "sovereign access to the sea" and associated saber rattling that it has flaunted for more than two years now. At the same time, there is a distinct twist/tone to its mendacious campaign in these times to portray itself as a "victim" of destabilization and thereby re-package its overarching irredentist agenda as a "legitimate act of self-defence". The latest version in its playbook of ever-shifting fallacious arguments and pretexts consists of ludicrous misinterpretation of the long-settled EEBC Award; to ascertain with a straight face that the Award's implementation remains "unilateral and illegal action before physical demarcation is carried out through an agreed process". These gimmicks are willfully floated to camouflage and divert attention from its reckless irredentist agenda which has been and remains the central kernel and driver of the tension in the region. That the EEBC had closed shop in 2007 having delivered its demarcation decision - duly deposited at the UN Cartographic Office with copies to both parties - is indeed a matter of historical record. The bedrock of the Joint Declaration of Peace and Friendship between Eritrea and Ethiopia, that was signed in Asmara in 2018, was in fact Ethiopia's full and unequivocal, if belated, commitment to the implementation of the EEBC Award, (Art.4). In the event, the Potemkin Party's U-turn is not surprising in many respects; as backstabbing, duplicity and deception are, indeed, part and parcel of its daily political staple. x.com/hawelti/status…

Potemkin Party: the political theatrics is increasingly bordering on absurdity! The same monotonous chorus; the same toxic and illicit quest for "sovereign" access to the sea packaged and re-packaged on every auspicious occasion. The hymn has to be recited - as a rule of thumb - by all senior PP officials, the Party Head, the top military brass, and even the nominal Head of State these days! Celebration of Renaissance Dam or Commemoration of Adwa Victory... each and every public event invoked and misconstrued to "legitimize" what is utterly unlawful. Raw irredentist and expansionist ambitions, which are fraught with grave consequences to regional peace and security, whitewashed and "sanitized" as "imperatives for development" while in effect they constitute seeds of unnecessary turmoil and conflict. Potemkin Party's illicit and delusional agenda is not what the Horn of Africa deserves or needs; this is indeed legal/international relations 101.

#Eritrea - Statement by Foreign Minister Osman Saleh at the High-Level Segment of the 61st Session of the Human Rights Council; 24 February, 2026 *"...The Human Rights Council, in particular, bears a distinct and significant responsibility for promoting universal respect for the protection of all human rights and fundamental freedoms. Yet it must be acknowledged, with sincerity, that the Council has not consistently fulfilled this responsibility. At times, its work has been diverted to serve narrow political interests rather than the universal principles it was established to uphold. This trajectory must be reversed. The unheeded continuous erosion of trust among States and the weakening of commitment to multilateral cooperation would be difficult to repair". *"...Eritrea’s vision is clear. We remain firmly committed to building a prosperous and self-reliant nation in which fundamental rights and freedom, including the right to development, are promoted, protected and respected". *"...In conclusion, Eritrea reaffirms, with unwavering conviction, its commitment to constructive engagement with this Council and its members with the aim of fostering long-term genuine partnership in the spirit of mutual respect for sovereignty and development. We stand ready to contribute in good faith in the work of this Council, to promote international cooperation, and to work collectively towards the shared ideals of peace, justice, and the inherent dignity of all human beings". shabait.com/2026/02/24/sta…

Potemkin Party officials, hired apologists and minions, have this knack for invoking postulates and arguments that are banal in substance but are, nonetheless, packaged in ostensibly "academic/geopolitical" analysis and garb for purposes of deceptive "credibility". Latest variants and versions in this saga of incessant public agitation and saber rattling include: * Delusional arguments on the "imperative for Ethiopia to project naval power to enhance the security of the Red Sea" because, we are told, "the task cannot be fully handled by the littoral States". Leaving unequivocal legal provisions and prevailing robust security configurations aside, the argument is too ludicrous to merit response. It is indeed mind-boggling why a regime notorious for incubating, and that is constantly embroiled in, perpetual internal conflicts of its own making has the temerity to assume an out-sized regional mantle as an "indispensable anchor State" instead of finding enduring panacea to its real and enormous challenges. * Tenuous arguments, in addition to worn-out references of population size etc., , on exorbitant "transit fees" and purported reduction in its annual GDP growth due to the lack of "sovereign access to the sea". These arguments are often laced with rather explicit corollary/threats that the regime "may indeed unleash war against its neighbour" to rectify these "existential threats". The Potemkin Party's outrageous allusion to "precedence of, and analogy with, Israel's annexation of the Golan Heights" at the last Session of the House of the Peoples Representatives was made in this context principally to mislead its domestic constituencies. Apparently, the myopic and callous PP officials are oblivious to the economic devastation and loss of life that any war of aggression is fraught with when they indulge in, and agitate for. these reckless agendas. *This is the real backdrop and underlying rationale behind the patently false and fabricated accusations leveled against Eritrea by the PP regime these days. Transparent as they are, the spurious arguments for unleashing war to acquire "sovereign access to the sea" have not, and cannot, find any traction or political endorsement in the wider world. The war agenda must thus be inverted and re-packaged under false premises and pretexts.

Smiles all round! Bini's first race of the season. Bini's first win of the season. It doesn't get sweeter than that! “It took me more than a year to get a victory,” explains @GrmayeBiniam. “Last year I was second many times, and that was not enough. I’m super happy, I’m motivated, and I’m happy to be back and to get the confidence back.” 🇪🇸 #VCV26 #WeAreNSN #VeniVidiBini | @weare_NSN
