At #HeartFailure26, Prof. @MarcoMetra discussed how obesity/adiposity is a major driver of HFpEF through inflammation, altered adipokines, but not all HFpEF patients are obese Potential drivers of non-obese HFpEF: - Hypertension & LVH - Coronary microvascular dysfunction - AF & atrial disease - Pulmonary vascular disease @escardio @WilfriedMullens @HFA_President

🫀Obesity is not just a comorbidity in HFpEF, it is a distinct phenotype with unique pathophysiology, diagnostic challenges, & therapeutic implications.
