🚨 Week 6 TXPSFB Players to Watch 🚨 @Bray_Alexander2 @DonnieAveryJr1 @DCantarella26 @JakobyDixon @CTCSLions2026 @curtis28690 @CrawfordMoffitt @JacobMontes2026 @JonahWOfficial @AsherWheatley26 Bradon Alexander – Injuries have forced Alexander into a critical role for the Cougars’ offense, and his consistency in the run game will be tested against rival Brook Hill. If he can handle a heavy workload and produce at volume, the Cougars will have a real opportunity to stay competitive. His ability makes him a player to watch this week. Donnie Avery Jr. – Avery wasted no time making an impression, posting 16 catches for 184 yards in a breakout performance last week. With NFL pedigree and clear big-play potential, he has quickly become a vital weapon for the Eagles’ offense. Continued production from Avery will be necessary if the Eagles want to compete deep into district play. Danny Cantarella – Cantarella has established himself as one of the strongest kicking legs in TXPSFB. While he has been called on frequently as a punter, his range as a placekicker gives the Vikings a real weapon in the field position battle. Expect Cantarella’s value to grow as opportunities for long-range field goals present themselves. Jakoby Dixon – Dixon saw his first real game action for the Dragons last week, and his integration into the lineup adds intrigue heading into conference play. With his skill set and potential, the expectation is that Dixon’s role will expand quickly. How the Dragons choose to utilize him moving forward could be a deciding factor in their title pursuit. Austin Evans – Evans has elevated his play to an elite level this season, building on a strong junior campaign. Already drawing comparisons to some of the top talents in TXPSFB history, he has cemented himself as one of the state’s premier players. If Evans can stay healthy, his presence alone makes Central Texas a title threat. Curtis Mathes – Mathes has become a reliable target for quarterback Miles Link and a major reason the Eagles have exceeded early-season expectations. His playmaking ability in the passing game has fueled their surprising start, and his continued consistency will be key if the Eagles are to remain in the SPC 4A hunt. Crawford Moffitt – With Houston Shaw sidelined, Moffitt has shouldered a heavier offensive load for the Panthers. His size, speed, and leadership have been key in keeping the unit competitive, and this week’s matchup against undefeated Grace Prep will be a major test. If Moffitt can steady the offense on homecoming night, the Panthers’ push for a playoff spot remains firmly in reach. Jacob Montes – A transfer from Southlake Carroll, Montes has given the Lions a new spark on both offense and special teams. His ability to stretch defenses in the passing game has made their attack more dynamic, and his play will be pivotal in this week’s revenge opportunity against the Eagles. Montes’ emergence continues to raise the ceiling for the Lions. Jonah Williamson – Williamson has emerged as a capable option at quarterback for the Cougars, stepping up last week to keep his team competitive against a larger TAPPS D2 opponent. This week, he takes center stage again in a key Metroplex Covenant matchup. His ability to deliver under pressure will be essential to his squad’s chances. Asher Wheatley – The Bishop Lynch defensive lineman faces a significant challenge this week against a highly regarded Prestonwood offensive line. With the Lions leaning more heavily on their ground game, Wheatley’s ability to disrupt in the trenches will be crucial. His impact could determine whether the Friars can contain the rushing attack and stay in contention.
