How weak-minded of an organization would we be if we changed our position just because an organization we often disagree with aligns on this issue? How small-minded is it to think if we agree on some matters that we align on all? Let's debate the issues and stop the smoke screen.

Those who seek to undermine ESOP for their own agenda would like to make a big deal over which organizations or people happen to agree with our position on state/local control. This is inconsequential. We stand firm on the issues that impact our officers and the community.

The 2020 ESOP report went on to call out the negative impacts. "Since 'local control' and the CBA minority officers have lagged behind with hiring, promotion, job placement in coveted positions, and more. Officer discipline along racial lines has been biased as well."
