@Kentheghost1 To me, he is the GOAT for writing these characters: 1. Black Panther 2. Reed Richards 3. OG Nick Fury 4. Doctor Doom — though there is a lot of competition 5. Black Bolt and Maximus I would also argue that his Thanos, Thor and Hyperion are GOATED, but I know others will resist

I miss Hickman’s avengers and new avengers so much. Cap and shield thinking they could take down the Illuminati had me in tears! The action? The drama? The stakes? The tech? They dont write comics like this anymore!

@patersonjeff Just incompetent. That’s all it is. The default for society is an expectation of a minimum of competence, and when wide swaths of people who have no particular connection to an outcome are constantly baffled by them, it’s the process and those connected with it. Every single time

@travisyost You have had a good read on VGK for years. What the hell is going on with them? Is it as simple as goaltending?

@Pendolino70S @aakashgupta That was such a great reminder of how reality works when on the show, Cersei asks “then how do we pay for anything” when she hadn’t thought deeply about how their financial system worked and had no idea if it was actually working. I replay that conversation in my head a lot

Game designers figured this out decades ago and it cost millions in failed launches. Will Wright built SimCity with a fully accurate traffic simulation. Testers hated it. The cars behaved realistically, which meant nobody could build a functioning city because real traffic is an unsolvable nightmare. He had to make the simulation dumber before the game became fun. The tension is permanent: the more accurately you model a system, the more it punishes the participant. Real medieval economies kept 90% of the population in subsistence farming. A historically accurate fantasy world doesn't produce heroes. It produces serfs. Tolkien solved this by making his economy deliberately vague. No one knows what a gold coin buys in Gondor. That ambiguity is a design choice, not a shortcut. The Reddit post is funny. The lesson underneath it is one of the hardest problems in simulation design: fidelity and fun are opposing forces, and you have to pick which one wins.

@GravyBurgerLLC @FitMarshmellow Some people probably don’t want to hear it, but he should have been the last one. Should’ve been a mandate that no matter how awkward it got, the Young Justice generation was the last one for 40 years. Should not have been able to create a new Robin until basically now

@JakeParkerLIVE @MarathonTheGame I have seen some of your posts and agree — the paradox is complicated. The game absolutely should be hard, as it is. Players need to be skilled. But is it really so bad to build a mode where new players can learn these skills and grow. Don’t give them loot. Let them learn

Idea for @MarathonTheGame: Exploration mode. Separated map instance for all maps in the game. Players who load in spawn with no gear. No enemies. No loot. No combat. No access to secrets. 30:00 minute timer. No rewards or XP. Players can freely explore the map to learn its layout before exfilling at any time.

What fictional character death hit you the most? For me, it was most certainly that of Dragonlance’s Sturm Brightblade. Pretty sure that’s what made me love playing the heroic knight type so much. 🖼️ Larry Elmore - Death of Sturm

@marathonaire You see it — it’s a throwback to games in arcades, where you were time-limited and experience-capped and had no idea where you were going or what came next, how hard the next transition or boss or challenge would be. It’s just HARD. At some point, it gets easier. But not quickly

I think one of the reasons cryo archive is so mentally taxing is that it requires you to interact with every skill you need in this game all at the same time. On the flip side, dying but sticking with it while learning from mistakes will make you become a great player

@viaChartz @PaulTassi I don't think that would ever be viable. I actually think some of these fireteams are going to literally, and I mean literally, going to have to practice every scenario. Especially finishing 2v1s in all that clutter. Some of these escapes have been insane

@PaulTassi Agreed. Been watching for a good chunk of the day. Those players in there are good -- some are really, really good -- but just one too-slow hesitation, combined with the zoning and TTK...it is ROUGH in there. Every time I think I see a good strat: NOPE
