As we recognize HIV Vaccine Awareness Day, we encourage you to stay informed and do what you can to ensure that this life-changing research can continue.

Scientific advancements have made it possible for HIV to no longer be a global health crisis, but it continues to be an ongoing issue. Having a vaccine would lead to lower rates of the disease being transmitted, but federal cuts have made it difficult to progress in its research.

Today, we’d like to extend a special thank you to the volunteers, advocates, healthcare professionals, and researchers for their endless efforts in developing a HIV vaccine.

No matter who you are, AIDS does not discriminate. That’s why it’s important to stay proactive in your sexual health by practicing safe sex and getting tested regularly.

(2/3) Adults 50+ living with HIV are susceptible to mental health challenges, isolation, and stigma – obstacles we aim to address through the Elizabeth Taylor 50-Plus Network at the San Francisco AIDS Foundation.

(1/3) May is Mental Health Awareness month, a month that emphasizes the importance of protecting mental health resources, reducing stigma, and raising awareness. People living with or impacted by HIV face unique challenges, including barriers to mental health care.
