@ETAQld Do the assessment yourself and ask a colleague to mark your work according to the ISMG. You’ll be better at teaching something you have first hand experience with.

@ETAQld Languages & cultures = identity Value ALL languages in your classroom, show interest in the languages that your students speak. You can bring students' languages into your classroom even if you don't speak them, consider identity texts, language mapping, bilingual dictionary use.

Do you have a metaphor for your classroom culture? It is a bus? A network of train tracks? Where does the teacher fit in the metaphor? #etaq22

A truly inspirational keynote address from @DrSRiddle at the @ETAQld State Conference today. A call educate for democracy, and to prioritise teaching in line with the English curriculum over baseless exercises in data collection. #etaq22

Love the idea to make a little resource pack for parents to share our learning in culturally sensitive units. Something I've not thought of... and a wonderful way to involve them in our conversations #etaq22

It was such a privilege to hear readings of her own works from @SaundersKirli and to be inspired and encouraged to "kick the hornet's nest" and embrace many voices in literature. #etaq22
