Have asked Reform why its membership team are phoning up councillors from other parties asking them to be paper candidates in May's elections.
Sam Webber@samdwebber

I received a call from 0116 4930076 at 2pm today asking if I wanted to be a paper candidate for @reformparty_uk in the local elections & I had a similar voicemail a few months ago. I explained I was already a @BromleyLibDems Councillor so will be standing for the @LibDems! 🗳🔶️

@brianphelan16 @FPLfrasier But he really hasn't. Bruno has created 101 chances, Wirtz has created 49 Bruno has created 24 big chances, Wirtz has created 3. Bruno has 14 assists, Wirtz has 3 It's not really fair to compare them!

@FPLfrasier He's created more chances than your Bruno. Give him time you will eat your words. First season. Its nonsense to judge him fully now.

I don’t even want to imagine the kind of words Carragher would be using to describe Wirtz and his big money transfer if he was a United player Carragher is extremely unprofessional in his job. When it comes to players or managers at United, he is ready to use extremely harsh words against them. He uses them so many times. Few examples - Lindelof, Licha, Casemiro, Ten Hag… When it comes to Liverpool, he would always be nice and professional. Two completely different personality while doing his job as a pundit.

'I had to keep believing at one point it would click' 💪 Florian Wirtz admits his start to life at Liverpool "wasn't easy."

Do it this way. Championship has 3 groups of 6 Winner of D1 gets £3m, plus £2m for community projects Winner of D2 gets £2m, plus £1m for community projects Winner of D3 gets £1m, plus £500k for community projects Bottom of D1 gets replaced by winner of D2 2nd Bottom goes into a playoff with 2nd in D2 Bottom of D2 is relegated and replaced by winner of D3 2nd bottom goes into a playoff with 2nd in D3 4 CC games in May Sunday to Wednesday, ODI Knockout Cup on Fridays 4 Games in June, Sunday to Wed, T20 Blast Friday Nights 2 games in July, Sunday to Weds, T20 Blast, Friday Nights and Sat nights when no Sunday games. Hundred in August September becomes Finals Month. ODI Cup Semi Final & Final T20 Blast Quarters and Finals Day CC Playoffs. So you essentially make the season shorter, no more April cricket, teams get a minimum 10 4 day games, up to 11 with the playoffs. T20 Blast is 12 games ODI cup is knockout including Minor Counties. Hundred keeps its prized spot.

Whilst I applaud your genuine desire to make the County Championship big box office stuff, if it’s played at the same time as the Hundred, it would undermine the Championship’s integrity. I don’t think many people want to see some pale imitation of First Class cricket played in August (just for the sake of it) with weak squads or see squads bolstered by 2nd tier overseas players.

Our game has had a substantial windfall recently. It would be really good to set £12 million aside for the winner of the CC … what a tournament that would be ! … And play it in summer …….

@henrywinter Goalkeeper goes down from a non impact injury, outfield player goes off for 90 seconds providing the GK is not subbed off, if they are, nobody needs to go off. Goalkeeper gets an impact injury, no team talk is permitted. Easy.

Tactical time-outs an increasing problem in football. A few PL clubs do it. Even England have done it. Caoimhin Kelleher may have genuinely been injured - he was able to play on - but Leeds United’s frustration at the disruption was understandable. They were building, had brought on subs and then the game paused. Daniel Farke already raised concerns earlier this season. Gianluigi Donnarumma went down and Manchester City players went to touchline for instructions. Farke asked the fourth official if he was going to do something. Officials’ hands are tied at the moment. Teams getting round rule for outfield players to go off for 30 seconds after treatment. Now goalkeepers used for tactical timeouts. IFAB has discussed a nominated outfield player going off for 30 seconds if a keeper has treatment. But concern that a keeper could genuinely have been injured. Possible solution is for players to be stopped from going to the touchline during stoppages or ordered to stay in the centre circle.  Be interesting to see whether World Cup refs clamp down. It’s seeking an advantage by breaking up opposition’s flow, by giving the manager an opportunity for instructions and also it’s time-wasting - and there’s enough of that spoiling games.

Anybody else get this? I don't follow any Reform MPs or party accounts, I follow Conservative MPs and accounts, yet pretty much every day, there are pro-reform stories being selected as my top news.

Just as a hypothetical, if people had the opportunity to join a syndicate with Ian Williams stable, based in Alvechurch, near Redditch. Would they be interested to know the detail behind it? It would be a flat horse likely, just trying to understand who may be interested before anything could be progressed with anyone

@RacingLGBT Yes. I read Probert was always committed to coming back around April/May, must have come back a few weeks earlier. Think Kingscote is more long term

Like Caesar at the Rubicon but in reverse. A man who once carried himself like a serious politician now reduced to this, flogging a £3,500 giveaway like some bargain-bin salesman, trying to buy votes with a cheap, grubby stunt. It’s not leadership. It’s not conviction. It’s desperation.

It may be because set piece ball isn't allowed in Europe, as soon as they see them surrounding a keeper, they blow up. English teams are going from the ball being in play on average 52/53 minutes a game, to 57/58 minutes in Europe. It's quite hard to adapt from Saturday to Wednesday playing a game with an extra 6 minutes in it with the ball entirely on the pitch.

The reasons behind PL travails in the UCL (really only Newcastle acquitted themselves well) are far more nuanced than simply a question of fatigue. Also issues around coaching and playing styles, grappling and goalkeeping. But the schedule will come under scrutiny... 1/2
