A huge thank you to Westlake Chemical for turning up the heat and raising $1,838 for the ETFB! 🙌 With 12 incredible chili teams competing, our judges had the toughest (and tastiest) job—sampling their way through some seriously delicious recipes.

The East Texas Food Bank would like to thank everyone for their generous support yesterday during East Texas Giving Day. Including our anonymous $50,000 match gift, a total of $114,763 was raised which provides 573,815 meals to our neighbors who are facing hunger today.

Deep East Texas Resource Center employees LaTonia Sanders, Ami Boyer and Bobbie Thompson attended the BCFS Coalition meeting recently. The meeting aims to strengthen relationships with community partners and gain knowledge of the needs of families in East Texas.

Thank you to Kito Crosby for coming out to the Longview Resource Center, powered by SWEPCO Foundation, to cover one of our recent afternoon shifts! They helped bag produce, clean, and shop with our neighbors.

The East Texas Food Bank Senior Box Program distributed 4,625 senior boxes to eligible participants in March. These boxes provide nutritious food and shelf-stable items to our senior neighbors, some who live in isolated and rural communities.

We are just *two* weeks away from Empty Bowls Longview at the Infinity Events Center presented by Brookshire Grocery Company! Tickets are still available at EmptyBowlsLongview.com and this is a 21 and over event.

For our Pantry Partner Spotlight this month, we are focusing on the Franklin County Community Food Pantry in Mt. Vernon, Texas. Opened in 1996, the food pantry distributed over 116,000 pounds of food last year and serves approximately 150 familes a month.

The Deep East Texas Resource Center in Lufkin was honored to have SSG Thompson and SSG Burley with the US Army spend time at our center recently. They helped lift our neighbors up and told them how they can make a difference for our country.
