@jmthrivept @RealDealFantasy @DrJesseMorse Players that miss the first 4 games of the season for any reason are historically TERRIBLE bets to finish inside the Top 24 or even Top 36 at their position. So anything above WR20 in drafts is a terrible deal value wise.

I’ve seen both ends of the extreme, from @RealDealFantasy saying this is no big deal at all to @DrJesseMorse saying it could be a 15 month recovery. Realistically, Malik Nabers had been able to push his rehab fairly aggressively but with altered mechanics up to this point, particularly with limited full knee extension that likely delayed his full quad activation from coming back. So no, the scar tissue needing to be debrided was not “no big deal”. However, it’s also not a death sentence for his 2026 season and 5 months from the 2nd surgery to week 1 is a VERY long time to now fully restore normal mechanics, regain full quad strength and progress into plyometrics, deceleration training, and return to sport. Even with the 2nd surgery I would say Nabers being active Week 1 is still within possibilities, but we should still plan on him starting on PUP as a conservative timeframe in general off of the ACL+meniscus repair + cyclops removal. My guess is still that he misses 4-6 weeks at the most, with a range of being active anywhere from Week 1 to Week 7 (mid-late October). Either way, his ADP is still too high with the negative factors being: 1. Coming off of ACL+meniscus repair+ scarring will inevitably negatively impact his early season/midseason production from his norm 2. Brian Daboll is not there to funnel an elite target share his way, and we shouldn’t expect that to be the case with Matt Nagy calling plays Still fading at cost at this time.

Last year people called me crazy for telling people not to draft Brandon Aiyuk after his ACL tear…and Chris Godwin and Jonathan Brooks in 2024…. Will Nabers be the next guy on the list?

Who was the dipstick that cleared Jerry Rice to play in a game 16 weeks post-ACLR?! Research has shown athletes can return to sport once they hit certain milestones + “feel” ready, whether it be 8 months or 13 months. ….3.5 months though?!?

@awlsabermetrics Follow up: How many families are going into debt to pay for travel sports for kids that will never make money playing them? The answer is probably 5-10-20x the number of lost Hall of Fame level players. Travel sports industrial complex is horrible.

The amount of future generational hall of fame athletes we are losing bc their parents dont make enough money is hard to overstate The worst part is I don't see any real end in sight unless the economy straight up collapses or (and even less likely- parents say enough is enough)

I would be incredibly surprised if this happened. And even if he does rush back, there’s no way that he’s going to be near 100%.

Nicholas Singleton had a Jones fracture a the Senior Bowl which cost him a chance to run at the NFL Combine. Penn State is known for putting out freaks and reports were he can run 4.35, had he done that he probably moves up boards.

@DBro_FFB I feel like we look back in 3 years and point to this draft for multiple executives being let go. Just bad decisions across the board in a pretty subpar draft.
