3/3. The turtle is being rehabilitated; once fully recovered, it will be returned to the river. Although they normally don't name their turtles, in light of its incredibly good fortune to be rescued by a sympathetic fisherman, the team couldn’t resist dubbing this one “#Lucky”!

2/3. Another few minutes underwater and the endangered turtle surely would have succumbed. The turtle was still responsive but experiencing difficulty walking. 🇰🇭 Turtle Conservation Team leader @ssomsr applied epoxy to ensure the sonic transmitter remained attached to the shell.

1/3. @TurtleSurvival. A fisherman in Sre Ambel river just contacted @TheWCS #Cambodia to report the recovery of one of the translocated Southern River Terrapins 🐢. The turtle had become entangled in a submerged “ghost net” and was almost dead when finally brought to the surface.
