🌟What a fabulous year 2024 has been! Looking back, this year has been filled with moments that have shaped the Centre’s history and energised our future. As we close this chapter and enter our 30th year, we remain committed to innovation, excellence and trust in multilingualism.

Today, the Translation Centre opened its doors to an outstanding group of trainees from the Council of the EU for a behind-the-scenes look at how we operate. We remain committed to nurturing the next generation and creating spaces where innovation and learning thrive.🚀

📣 The Translation Centre is thrilled to be participating in the AsLing TC46. Our Director, Ildikó Horváth, will be presenting our approach to AI, 'Human expertise powered by AI' and the IATE team are there with a workshop on 'Experimental AI-enhanced Features for IATE'. 🌐

🔍Today is the Translation Centre's Management Board meeting, chaired by Christos Ellinides, Director-General for the Directorate-General for Translation at the European Commission. It is a great opportunity to share insights about the responsible use of AI in translation 🌐💡

This afternoon, members of the Translation Centre’s Management Board had the opportunity to visit our offices to witness first-hand our unique expertise in delivering linguistic solutions in support of multilingualism, ahead of tomorrow’s Management Board meeting 🌟👥

Today, the Translation Centre's Director Ildikó Horváth is visiting the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in Cologne, Germany. Building strong partnerships with clients is an important priority for the Centre as the EU's shared language service provider. ✈️🤝

👥🌍The online workshop on AI and Data in the LAC Region is underway and today the Centre’s Director Ildikó Horváth presents on 'Machine Translation and Training Data for Multilingual Outputs' showcasing how we create bespoke translation engines.

Our Director, Ildikó Horváth, will present on Machine Translation and Training Data for Multilingual Outputs on 4 September at the online workshop, AI and Data in the LAC Region: Frameworks, Policy and Large Language Models, organised by the Digital for Development (D4D) Hub.🌍🤝

🌟 The Translation Centre is participating in TermNet’s Terminology Summer School (TSS), which starts today! 📌The IATE tool manager is showcasing the public features of the EU terminology management system #IATE and its latest developments.

Yesterday, the Translation Centre Director delivered the keynote speech at the conference on 'Human-Centered AI for the Euro-Med', presenting the Centre's hybrid approach of combining advanced technology with essential human expertise in AI operations.

This is an important week for the Translation Centre, as tomorrow we are hosting the #TCN2024 meeting!🌟 This annual event is designed to connect, inform and inspire our partners, helping them to understand how to best make use of our language services to meet their needs.
