🇪🇺🇲🇰 I had a very good exchange today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of North Macedonia, Timcho Mucunski. We discussed cooperation and the implementation of reforms in the area of education, skills, employment, and social policy, recognising that further efforts are needed to accelerate the necessary reforms. Erasmus+ remains a key bridge between North Macedonia and the EU. Between 2021 and 2024, €32 million has supported 830 organisations, and enabled more than 14,300 students and staff to gain valuable experience abroad. The European Commission fully supports North Macedonia’s path to EU membership.

"Armenia and the EU have never been closer!" 🇪🇺🤝🇦🇲 Last week, EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos traveled to Armenia to deepen the EU-Armenia partnership. Her visit took her to Gyumri, where she explored EU-funded initiatives driving social inclusion, economic development, and new jobs for local communities. Commissioner Kos also took the stage at Shirak State University, engaging with students on what Europe means for their future and the opportunities ahead. But the real highlight? Our Young European Ambassador Arsen didn't just facilitate the university session, he personally guided Commissioner Kos through the streets of his hometown, Gyumri. The release of 250 political prisoners in Belarus is a welcome and tangible step forward. I thank the United States for brokering this deal. For many families, this is a moment of long-awaited relief and a chance to reunite with their loved ones. We can't overlook that these individuals should never have been imprisoned in the first place. All those still unjustly detained in Belarus must be freed, and repression must end.
