Our Evans School ChangeMakers are hard at work today for the "Great Spring Glow Up!" ✨ After showcasing their project ideas on how to make their school better at this morning's assembly, students were surprised with the news that they get to spend the whole day bringing those ideas to life! From landscaping the courtyard to designing mock-ups for a brand-new playground revamp, these kids are proving that you are never too young to create change for good. Through Evans' partnership with the University of Evansville and other community donors, days like today teach our students that they always have the power to make the community around them a better place. Throw in some pizza, ice cream, and an upcoming Staff vs. Student basketball game to end the day, and it's safe to say it's a great Friday at Evans!

Huge shoutout to all our winter athletes for their success. Spring athletes... you're up. Let's lock in!

Congratulations to Coach Walker and the North JH Huskies Green team defeating the Washington Continentals 38-26 to capture the Middle School Varsity Boys Basketball City Championship! The Huskies finished the season undefeated with a 14-0 Record!

Congratulations to Coach Ayres and the Plaza Park Pacers on their undefeated season (15-0)!They defeated the North JH Huskies White team 55-44 to capture the Middle School Boys Basketball Reserve City Championship!

Big news from the SICTC Media Communications & Broadcasting program! We have a lot to celebrate this week, from incredible student achievements to an exciting announcement from their teacher. First, congratulations to our students on their outstanding performance at the 2026 Indiana Association of School Broadcasters (IASB) State Competition. @SICTC was named 1st Place for Emerging Media School of the Year and 2nd Runner Up for Video School of the Year! Be sure to check out the attached graphic to see the impressive list of individual student awards, including first-place finishes in Cinematography, Vodcast, Social Media Presence, and On-Air Personality. We are also thrilled to share that their instructor, Jo Beth Bootz, has officially been elected as the new President of the IASB. This is a wonderful and meaningful milestone, making her the very first female president in the organization's history. "I look forward to the opportunity to lead, collaborate, and continue advocating for excellence in high school and college media across the state," Jo Beth shared. In this episode of "What’s Happening with Dr. Hoover," we learn about Link - an exciting partnership between the EVSC and Amcor! This program gives our juniors and seniors a head start on careers in manufacturing and logistics, allowing them to gain hands-on, real-world experience while earning their high school diploma.

ALL ABOARD FOR THIS SUMMER! We are thrilled to announce the EVSC Summer Musical Company will be performing Titanic The Musical June 11-14. This sweeping, powerful story will showcase the incredible talent of everyone involved. Students have already been learning and preparing, and they can’t wait for their performances! This is a bold new era in theater education for our students. You’ve known us for years as the EVSC Summer Musical. We are officially evolving into the EVSC Summer Musical Company. Our new identity reflects our commitment to expanded theater education for our cast, crew, and orchestra through monthly theater training sessions and an intensive summer experience, while learning from the same Broadway-caliber production team who have led this work for many years. Join us as we move to a new location for this year’s production at the University of Evansville’s Shanklin Theater. We hope you can experience this wonderful show to see our students in action!
