WaPo habitually centers men in a female obit subject’s life. They were partners, but both the caption & opening define her via him *over* her own achievements. Plowright won a Best Actress Tony the year they married! Maybe that helped confer her rank? bit.ly/3PCfLfX

What a joy to see JAZZY—costarring Lily Gladstone--earn multiple Indie Spirit nominations. An absolute gem, and one of my favorites of the year. So glad intimate films like this one are still being recognized and honored.

My favorite thing about the NYFCC awards—besides that mad rush to see every great & good movie before our vote—is that we always honor such a wide range of artists. The full list is at @nyfcc, with THE BRUTALIST taking well-earned Best Film (and Best Actor).
