Cardinal Pizzaballa on Palm Sunday: “In this afternoon of Palm Sunday we gather without a procession, without palms waving through the streets. This absence is not merely a matter of formalities. It is the war that has interrupted our festive journey, making even the simple joy of following our King difficult.” “Today Jesus weeps once more over Jerusalem. He weeps over this city, which remains a sign of both hope and sorrow, of grace and suffering. He weeps over this Holy Land, still unable to recognize the gift of peace. He weeps for all the victims of a war that seems without end: for divided families, for shattered hopes. But the tears of Jesus are never fruitless. They open our eyes, challenge us, and reveal the truth.”

We all remember the day Pope Francis was elected. And we all remember the day of his death. But if there is a third moment of his pontificate that no one can forget, it is surely this one: the extraordinary Urbi et Orbi blessing of March 27, 2020, in an empty St. Peter’s Square, while the whole world was going through the pandemic. It was an image forever etched in the memory of millions: the Holy Father, alone in the rain, bringing before God the fear, the suffering, and the hope of all humanity. That gesture became one of the most powerful and moving symbols of his pontificate.

« je ne sais plus où les mettre ! » cette parole de Fr. Gaël, maître des novices m’a surpris la semaine dernière. Il ne sait pas où il va pouvoir loger tous les regardants, novices et autres candidats à la vie monastique après des années de désert… il se passe qq ch. en France !

“Dear friends, we must dream of and build a more humble Church “A Church that does not stand upright like the Pharisee, triumphant and inflated with pride, but bends down to wash the feet of humanity. “A Church that does not judge as the Pharisee does the tax collector, but becomes a welcoming place for all. “A Church that does not close in on itself, but remains attentive to God so that it can similarly listen to everyone. ”Let us commit ourselves to building a Church that is entirely synodal, ministerial and attracted to Christ and therefore committed to serving the world.” — Pope Leo XIV thelettersfromleo.com/p/in-magna-car…
