@EYDShow Ok btw you and @NorCalSportsNW are my favorite sf giants youtubers
English

@EYDShow is this true he has a agreement thing with us?

English

@dhopkinz I don’t currently have them as a playoff team but as of right now I feel they’ll win around 84-85 games
English

@EYDShow How you feeling about this season? I just don't think we did enough to improve the team from last year. A lot is going to have to go right for us to compete
English

@dhopkinz Sure, but that isn’t a case for Jerar really. Just that the team in general needs an upgrade there.
English

@EYDShow I agree but none of them are ideal. DH should be a position in the lineup that produces and after C, it might be our weakest spot in the lineup
English

@STRealtyGroup @NorCalSportsNW Lebron, and rather easily. Premium SS prospects hold value for trades and the hit rate on college SS high in the draft is way higher than college arms. Part of this is because arms are susceptible to more things that stall their development.
English

@NorCalSportsNW Dan, ‘Best Player Available’ is pretty much always the way to go. Always. But…….
…..Given the org’s current premium prospect pool of MIFs and the team’s aversion to big pitcher contracts, who do the Giants take if both Lebron and Flora are somehow both available at pick 4?
English

2026 MLB Draft: Baseball America Staff Draft 1.0
UC Santa Barbara stud pitcher Jackson Flora projected to the SF Giants at #4 in their first mock draft. I also really like Flukey at #7 and Drew Burress at #12. Of course Cholowsky & LeBron would be awesome. baseballamerica.com/stories/2026-m…

@MasterHistory23 Matos has had some big ABs, Schmitt has had some, Koss has had some. I can’t say there are going to be a plethora of guys starting though that they’ll be actively looking to PH for late in games unlike past seasons.
English

I totally agree putting the best roster forward. When players have options, it's easier for the club to make those tough decisions. That said, is there a guy currently in the running to make the bench that you want to see up in the 7th through the 9th with a runner in scoring position with the game tied? The closet guy is Koss. He seems has shown to have the clutch gene.
English

@MasterHistory23 I understand that, but the fact that 99% of the rationale behind keeping Jerar involved trying to sneak one through waivers in a week says it all. Just put the best roster together and move on from Jerar.
English

@EYDShow Opening Day roster isn’t the end all, be all. Considering the Giants have 3 days off in the first 3 weeks of the season, they may run a 5-man bench and 7-man bullpen to begin the season. After that, you could see roster adjustments.
English

@Joepa81 @AaronThiessen3 Which is where I say keep Matos and trade/DFA Encarnacion.
English

@AaronThiessen3 @EYDShow Both out of options. Not an excuse, just saying
English

@matthewsf27 From what I’ve seen they still think Bader will be ready opening day but if he’s not it certainly kicks the can down the road for at least 10 more days.
English

@BaseballFlame5 There are 2 bench spots in SF and keeping 5 OF in Sac doesn’t make sense when you can’t even use Bericoto at 1B because they optioned Bryce at well. Someone is going to get hardly any PT down there as it stands.
English

@BaseballFlame5 None of my take has to do with spring numbers. And trying to keep every player is basically keeping 7 players for 6 spots between Sac/SF. Letting Jerar go is perfectly fine from a depth perspective.
English

@dhopkinz Jerar is no more proven as a DH option than either Schmitt or Matos.
English

@EYDShow Problem is, without Eldridge making the team, who is our DH? Should be one of our better hitters in the lineup but there’s no one that seems to be a threat (assuming Devers and Arraez are in the field)
English

@EYDShow The argument for him being on the roster falls to wayside when it looks like they are keeping Matos too. I don’t get it.
English

@BaseballFlame5 If we’re facing a bunch of lefties just have either Matos or Schmitt DH.
English

@EYDShow Rosters on opening day aren’t usually what it’ll be for the main stretch. They’ll hold onto Encarnacion while they face a bunch of lefties to start the season and he’s probably the odd man out once Eldridge or anyone else has gotten some more reps and every day playing time
English

@BlueJays_Giants The case against Matos on the bench for me has been the struggles when he gets inconsistent playing time. With Bryce in Sac there’s an easy pathway to get him 4 or so starts per week and at 24 there’s a chance he puts it together. If not I have no issue moving on.
English

@EYDShow That Ks and lack of walks are definitely a big concern. Not a big Matos fan myself, but I totally understand keeping him and not letting him go for nothing like they did with Bart and Luciano
English

@BlueJays_Giants I’d rather keep Matos on the roster than Jerar. I just don’t see the value in Jerar. The only thing he brings is a ton of strikeouts and the occasional 460’ bomb.
English

@EYDShow Yeah there is definitely depth at 1B with those 2. Would love to find a way to keep both Oliva and Jerar on the roster
English

Charlie Szykowny was 3rd among #SFGiants minor leaguers with 21 home runs in 2025. There is a good chance that he behind the season in Double-A.

English

@BlueJays_Giants Schmitt can, and should, play 1B anytime Devers needs a day. So dont really need Jerar for that. Even Arraez could shift in an emergency.
English

@EYDShow Only reason I could come up with would be that Jerar can play 1B as well. I think Oliva has done everything to make this team. Would love to have that speed late in the game
