LIONHEART (2018) isn’t my favorite among the H.C. McEntire solo albums, but Heather’s voice is Heather’s voice and there aren’t many that can compare with it. Definitely among my contenders. #5DebutAlbums1519

I’m a fan of the follow-ups but needed this nudge to go back to their debuts: Kate NV’s BINASU (2016) and Cassandra Jenkins’ PLAY TILL YOU WIN (2017). Neither totally seals the deal but I’ve enjoyed them more than most of what I’ve been dipping into. #5DebutAlbums1519

Happened to hear a much later Yo La Tengo track on the car radio today which got me all nostalgic to revisit RIDE THE TIGER (1986). In the end it’s a likable debut but not yet lovable, in large part because Georgia wasn’t singing yet. #5DebutAlbums8589
