The 8th EACO Regional E-waste Awareness Conference ended this evening in Kinshasa, DRC, hosted by @OfficielArptc. The Ministre de l’environnement, et du climat de la RDC, H.E. Marie Nyange Ndamo, emphasized three points; Infrastructure, Innovation and Collaboration.

The event is sponsored and hosted by @OfficielArptc on behalf of the DRC. The conference brought Government Officials from ICT, Environmental Management Agencies, E-waste Handlers, Collectors and Recyclers, Private Sector, Civilil Society group, Academia and the general public.

The 8th EACO Regional E-waste Awareness Conference commenced on 16th-18th March 2026 in Kinshasa, DRC. The theme of the event is: "Building a Circular Economy in the EACO Region: Strengthening Regional Infrastructure, Innovation and Partnership for Sustainable Development".

The training focused on improving operational communication frameworks, establishing trusted channels for information exchange, and strengthening regional collaboration to better respond to cyber incidents. The participants received course materials & certificates. @CA_Kenya

The meeting reviewed its previous activities, updated the Working Group’s matrix of activities and assigned responsibilities to members. @ARCTBDI

The EACO WG3 held its meeting on 2nd–6th March 2026 at King Jada Hotel in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. A capacity training for EACO CERTs/CIRTs Communication Focal Points (CFP) was organized from 2nd-4th March 2026, facilitated by Mr. Joel Kazoba, Consultant, InfoSec Academy, Tz.

At MWC Barcelona, @sg_atu John Omo joined @HuaweiSAR's All-In Talk and made the case for Africa’s AI future to be built, not borrowed. He emphasized harmonised policy, sovereign compute and data capacity, and large-scale talent development as Africa advances AI adoption. #MWC2026

Regional regulators are aligning spectrum priorities to support 5G, Satellite Broadband, IoT, and Digital Innovation across East Africa. Together, we strengthen our voice in global spectrum negotiations. @MoICTKenya

EACO in coordination with @CA_Kenya, are holding the 3rd WRC-27 Preparatory Meeting in Nairobi. Meeting has attracted Regulators, Operators and multiple industry partners and players to discuss spectrum priorities to ensure service provision in the region.

This week CA is hosting the 3rd @EacoInfo preparatory meeting for @ITU WRC27. Regional regulators are aligning spectrum priorities to support 5G, satellite broadband, IoT, and digital innovation across East Africa.Together, we strengthen our voice in global spectrum negotiations.

Today, the Joint Working Committee completed the Draft Framework for the Development, Adoption and Implementation of EACO Regulatory Documents. This meeting was attended by the Leadership of the Working Groups and Committees, Secretariat as well as members of FARMC and LCAC.

The Workshop will run from 16th-20th February to track the status of implementation of the Strategic Goals, Activities and Output Indicators for the Strategic Plan. The team will finalise the Dev't, Adoption, Implementation, Monitoring & Evaluation of EACO Regulatory Frameworks.

Today the EACO Strategic Plan 2023-2028 Midterm Review has commenced at St. Famille Hotel in Kigali, Rwanda. The Workshop brought Chairpersons and V- Chairpersons for various Working Groups & Committees, Legal & Finance Committee members, the Facilitator and the Secretariat.

Support Regional Digital Transformation, and strengthen coordinated engagement by Partner States at regional and international levels.

The ED was warmly received by the Minister and they had a constructive and focused engagement on EACO matters. She briefed the Minister on EACO's mandate in strengthening regional coordination in the communications sector, to enhance harmonized ICT policy implementation.
