Character sheet for my oc Isadore Snow. He will be one of the main characters in my upcoming webtoon. Anthro owl males will bring their wings around themselves to form a cape. This is called formal wing rest. Honestly I designed this look because I just liked it. It looks regal.

@AudienceObvious You're probably right on the wingspan. He's pretty tall, I need to make sure his wings can support him.😆

@EarthEssentia He has him down so much. It's easy to forget just how long they actually are. Looks like he has at least a 20 foot wingspan.

Gotta draw my bird ocs flying sometimes. I know there is a lot of precision in wing anatomy, but to save time and to create the illusion of movement drawing them simplified has worked well for me. I still need improvement, but I have to start somewhere.

Working out my own owl and raven friendship concept. These are my ocs Isadore and Dezeray. And this moment is feeling more and more like their first meeting. Dezeray is very chatty, outgoing, and doesn't understand personal boundaries. Isadore doesn't know what to do with her.

Action poses. I heard it said once, "you are the best at what you draw the most of." So I need to draw more action poses. It's fun, it's just very challenging. This is my snowy owl oc, Isadore.

Expressions drawing practice with my barn owl oc Adelaide. My process for this exercise has been to imagine and feel an emotion and then try to draw that as an expression. That tends to lead down a backstory rabbit hole, of why the character would feel that way.

@sigraenn @Zephyzu I didn't know about that. That is such a cool idea.

@Zephyzu @EarthEssentia reminds of a sword in the Percy Jackson books that was for killing humans and mythological beings. steel for humans bronze for the other.

Fantasy swords are so much fun to design. When starting to focus on character reference sheets I begin to realize all the details about a character I still have figured out, like their weapons. I love being able to design things however I want.
