Indie games have been booming since the early 2010s with some of them ending up to be huge successes. It's just that a lot of them fly over mosts people's heads because they don't have insanely realistic graphics and shrinking horse testicles.

Palworld's overwhelming success is the first step in the normalization of generative ai slop games which is really, really depressing. 10 years ago an asset flip game like this would have been relentlessly ridiculed lol
