Hoa’s light will continue to shine in the students she championed, the policies she shaped, and the communities she helped strengthen. We will miss her terribly—and honor her by continuing the work she began, with the same compassion and courage she embodied.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Representative Hoa Nguyen, taken far too soon after a fierce and courageous journey with cancer. Hoa was a dear friend and partner to East County Rising. Her life and leadership reflected the very best of what it means to serve community.
