@hlovo_ The dupe instinct is right — the hard part is knowing which ones actually match on ingredients and materials vs just the look and bottle shape. That gap is bigger than most people realize.

@Ant_089 Fair point on scent — but for everything else (formula, materials, actual quality) the gap is way smaller than brands want you to believe. The hard part is knowing which dupes are genuinely close and which just look similar.

Lol one lie we should never tell ourselves though is that dupes smell the same or better than the originals. They might be a cheaper alternative that does the job but let’s not try convince ourselves now 😂

@AndroidPolice Google Lens is great for visual matching — Eazo takes it further by actually comparing specs, materials and reviews so you know if the dupe is genuinely equivalent or just looks similar. Big difference when you're spending real money.

@baba_Omoloro This is such a valuable resource — understanding the science behind allergies is step one. The other challenge is the real-time moment in a grocery store or restaurant when you need to make a fast decision about whether something is safe.

@WallStreetApes The folded tag is the detail that gets me every time. They literally ran out of space. The wild part is most people still try to read it in the store — squinting, googling one ingredient at a time. There has to be a better way to know what you're actually eating.

Americans are learning our food is poison, “The FDA is a joke” This one Chicken Burrito from Buc-ee’s has over 200 ingredients “Literally nothing should have this many ingredients, and everyone wonders why we get sick so much. They feed us the problems to sell us the solutions” I tried to research a full ingredients list but even Buc-ee’s doesn’t publish it, I was able to verify there is over 200 ingredients on the package. Everything in the burritos has their ingredients broken down

@FoodAllergy This is exactly the problem — two products that look almost identical, one safe for milk allergy, one not. Even careful shoppers can miss it in a rush. Packaging clarity can't just rely on text that people skim.

FARE | Food Allergy Research & Education
Snack brand SkinnyPop has voluntarily removed its newly launched White Cheddar Popcorn from store shelves after recognizing that its packaging looked very similar to its dairy-free White Cheddar variety. While the product itself was accurately labeled, the company acted out of an abundance of caution to prevent potential confusion for people with milk allergy. For the food allergy community, packaging clarity matters. A simple mix-up can have serious consequences. That’s why proactive decisions like this help set an important standard for food safety and consumer awareness. FARE applauds SkinnyPop for taking swift action and prioritizing the safety of people living with food allergies. Steps like this help build a safer food environment for the more than 33 million Americans managing this serious disease.

@FoodAllergy Stories like Owen's are why packaging clarity and ingredient awareness matter so much. The scary part is how many parents go through that first reaction without knowing what triggered it.

FARE | Food Allergy Research & Education
"Owen is four, and his first allergic reaction happened when he was just seven months old. We gave him yogurt puffs, something that seemed harmless and common for babies. Within minutes he began vomiting. At the time, we assumed it was just a reaction to a new food. Soon after, we tried oatmeal. Again, he vomited. We wondered if his stomach was just sensitive as he was beginning solids. Then came the moment that changed everything. One morning we gave Owen French toast. Shortly after eating, he began struggling to swallow. It was terrifying to watch your baby suddenly unable to manage something as simple as swallowing food. That moment began our journey into the world of severe food allergies. Today, Owen has life-threatening (anaphylactic) allergies to dairy, eggs, wheat, and peanuts. He is also sensitive to several other foods, which makes introducing new foods extremely complicated and stressful. Because of the severity of his allergies, Owen has never eaten at a restaurant. Every meal requires careful planning, label reading, and preparation at home. Something as simple as grabbing lunch out or sharing a birthday cake with friends carries risks that most families never have to think about. Food is supposed to be joyful, especially for children. But for families like ours, it can feel like navigating a minefield. We carry emergency medication everywhere we go and constantly worry about accidental exposure. Despite these challenges, Owen is an incredibly happy, resilient little boy. His allergies have taught our family to advocate, educate others, and appreciate the small victories—like finding a safe food he enjoys or watching him confidently navigate a world that isn’t always built with kids like him in mind. Food allergies aren’t just preferences or mild sensitivities. For children like Owen, they are life-threatening medical conditions that shape everyday life. Our hope in sharing his story is to help others understand the seriousness of food allergies and to create a safer, more inclusive world for children living with them." -Brittney Submit your story for a chance to be featured on an upcoming #FAREsundaystory: bit.ly/3WNio3g

If you're going to flip a thrift store find on eBay, probably a good idea to take the original $20 price tag off of it if you are asking for 2x-7x the price you paid. Couldn't be bothered to take photos when they got home?

This is a labeling problem that exists everywhere — not just Nigeria "Milk", "natural", "healthy" — these words mean different things in different markets, and most people have no way to know what they're actually buying. That's exactly why we built Eazo. eazo.ai
gst@wearegst

Most Nigerians think they are drinking milk. They are drinking Fat-Filled Milk Powder (FFMP). In the EU, FFMP can’t be sold as milk, it must be labelled as a milk ingredient, not a dairy product. Here, it’s “milk”. Nigerians are eating what others aren’t allowed to call food.

@KalanaraDika Great explainer. But most people with allergies are still guessing in the grocery aisle — googling ingredient names mid-shop. Been using Eazo ai, you just snap the label and it flags every allergen risk instantly, "may contain" included. Game changer when shopping for kids.

Maaf aku jadi party pooper.

@therealdaddymo1 @wearegst @rosemaryegbo This is a real problem and it goes way beyond Nigeria. Try Eazo — you snap any label and it instantly tells you what's actually in it, flags hidden allergens, and pulls real reviews so you're not just trusting whatever's printed on the package. eazo.ai

@wearegst @rosemaryegbo FFMP is typically high in saturated fats (from added vegetable oils like palm oil), which can contribute to increased cholesterol levels and raise the risk of heart disease over time. Second, compared to natural whole milk, it may have lower levels of essential nutrients!!!!
