@IndplsMade @Markosonke1 It’s not only basic needs that make people migrate, mate. Has nothing to do with ego or what ancestors built or did not. The video is addressing something that has nothing to do with illegal immigration. Work ethic is subjective, mate!

@Eazy__3 @Markosonke1 See if they own native countries would provide for them, they wouldn’t need to look down on others and say they somehow outwork the natives in they own country they ancestors built. Maybe it’s not a them it’s a YOU problem but ones ego won’t allow them to see pass their arrogance

@SAHRCommission This whole institution should be shut down as it is useless. We have SAPS to protect and serve our people, not this useless institution. Reminds me of useless TRC

“There’s no South African who chases down Nigerians because they’re Nigerian, it’s not true. They chase down all drug dealers from both Nigeria and South Africa, and report them to the police. When the police don’t act, the community takes the law into its own hands, it happens like that.” - President Thabo Mbeki 🇿🇦

We can’t allow criminals or self-appointed “enforcers” to cause chaos in this country. We already have institutions like Home Affairs and SAPS mandated to deal with immigration and law enforcement. Beating people, insulting them, and taking the law into your own hands is not justice, it’s lawlessness. You don’t fix illegality with more illegal actions. If we truly care about order, then we must respect the rule of law, not replace it with mob justice. Otherwise, we’re just creating a more dangerous country for everyone.

@w3ng3rM @Eazy__3 @Markosonke1 Wrong. People do not leave Nigeria because they were outcompeted. We did something that almost no one else is stupid enough to do: we artificially reduced the value of labour to keep the cost of goods and services low. As a result, labour in Nigeria is too cheap and unattractive.

@w3ng3rM @Markosonke1 Not sure I understand what you’re saying. But since you mention Nigeria I should let you know I work with Nigerians where I work. We are all immigrants. We all feel we have to put extra effort than locals. But guess what, we are all here legally.

@DylanDan1998 @DrEzemmuo @Markosonke1 Fully agree with you! Fully support the full might of law against any aggression. What I was questioning is the idea that we have issue of illegal immigration because locals are “lazy, entitled” and all other labels given.

@DrEzemmuo @Markosonke1 Pointing out other issues does not invalidate the issue at hand. One issue at a time. I’d be the first to support you in addressing the additional issues you highlight. But let’s not make it look like it’s unusual for locals to be comfortable and be outworked by immigrants

@Eazy__3 @Markosonke1 Entitlement and laziness fuel crime, stealing, looting, robberies. Blaming outsiders only distracts from the real issues: skills gaps, education, work ethic, and economic policy. Fix those, not scapegoats.

@DrEzemmuo @Markosonke1 Rightly so, so what? They must not raise issues of illegal immigration because they are lazy and entitled?

@Markosonke1 The issue isn’t getting employed. The problem is staying employed. Very large numbers of South Africans are lazy and entitled.

Where is/was State Security? The US ‘training’ of security & metro officers in Cape Town happened a few ago. It took users on this app to make the noise. The DA led- Cape Town municipality can’t be a law unto themselves! This also can’t be dealt with ‘behind the scenes’, we need to know post this ‘ironing -out’ what happens next. Sad that out relevant authorities are finding out like all of us 🥲 #CountryDuty

This is very wrong. The municipal level of government does not have any foreign policy competence, this includes agreements, whether formal or informal, with militaries of foreign states. DIRCO will be liaising with all parties involved to iron this out.

Elon Musk’s latest tirade against South Africa is a masterclass in billionaire bait-and-switch. He claims Starlink is banned solely because he isn’t Black, a narrative he pushes to his 200-million-plus followers as proof of "viciously racist" laws. In reality, the 30% local equity requirement he decries is a standard part of the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) framework that hundreds of other U.S. giants, including Microsoft, have navigated for decades without the "drama". Musk’s "principle" against these rules conveniently ignores that South Africa has already pivoted to accommodate him. As of December 2025, the government introduced Equity Equivalent Investment Programmes (EEIPs), allowing foreign firms like Starlink to skip the equity transfer entirely by investing in local infrastructure and skills. Instead of taking the win, Musk has escalated to hurling expletives at senior diplomats and alleging (without evidence) that he was pressured to "bribe" his way into a license. The irony is thick: while Musk plays the victim of "reverse racism", his refusal to follow local law is the primary hurdle keeping high-speed internet from the very rural South African communities he claims to want to help. It isn't about the color of his skin; it’s about a billionaire who believes his birthplace owes him a waiver for the same rules everyone else follows.
