We continue to stand with the Donkor family and all those affected by the tragic microlight helicopter crash at Community One, Site 18.
Tema mourns with you, and we share in your pain.
Even in the days after, our thoughts remain with the families as they navigate this difficult time. May the memories of Frank and Elijah Donkor bring strength and comfort.
May their souls continue to rest in perfect peace.

I joined the Donkor family, loved ones, and state officials at the State House, on behalf of Tema, to pay our final respects to Frank and Elijah Donkor, who tragically lost their lives in the microlight helicopter crash at Community One (1), Site 18.
Together with the Speaker of Parliament, the Chief of Staff, and other dignitaries, we stood in solidarity with the bereaved families during this difficult time of grief.
My thoughts and prayers are with the families as they navigate this profound loss. May the souls of the departed rest in perfect peace.

Today, I had the pleasure of joining the staff and children of the TMA Day Care Centre at Community 1, No. 2 to officially commission the refurbished school block. This important upgrade was made possible through the Orange Impact initiative under Fidelity Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility.
This intervention goes beyond infrastructure—it is an investment in the future of our children and a reaffirmation of what strong partnerships can achieve for our communities.
As Mayor, I am committed to strengthening our collaboration with Fidelity Bank, so we can continue to work together across many areas for the benefit of Tema.
On behalf of the people of Tema, I express my sincere gratitude to the bank for this thoughtful contribution. We look forward to many more impactful partnerships in the years ahead.

*23rd March 2026*
I Joined Mental Health Professionals to Initiate Support for Teachers, Parents, and Children Affected by Last Week's Plane Crash.
A coordinated mental health support mechanism was activated for parents, staff, and children affected by last week’s plane crash in Tema. This follows my engagement last week with a team from the Mental Health Authority, the Tema General Hospital, the Metro Education Directorate, and staff of the affected school.
The initiative, coordinated by the Mental Health Authority, brought together parents, teachers, and children from the TMA Day Care Centre. Also present was a team from Tema General Hospital, led by the Medical Director, Dr. Ralph Armah, together with the Metropolitan Director of Health, Dr. Sally Quartey. In total, 120 parents, 11 teachers, and 106 children were screened to determine follow-up support needs across the short, medium, and long term.
For me, the highlight of the day was the shared warmth of gratitude to the teachers. It was a moving moment for me, personally - expressed most meaningfully through the hugs I gave to each teacher in a gesture of empathy and appreciation.

On Thursday, I had the privilege of engaging with students of Olam Senior High School alongside the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development as part of activities marking International Women’s Day.
Moments like these remind us of the importance of investing in our girls — supporting them to lead, excel, and shape the future of our city.
The future of Tema is bright.

Through our community Imams, we extended support to our Muslim brothers and sisters during Ramadan - a time of reflection, sacrifice and unity.
Later in the evening, we joined the community to break the fast, sharing in a moment of togetherness and fellowship😊💜
Together, we continue to build a caring and inclusive Tema 🌙✨

I visited the scene of the tragic plane crash at Tema Community 1, Site 17, where I engaged with security leadership and affected staff on the ground.
In this difficult moment, my priority remains the well-being of our community, especially the teachers and children of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) Day Care Centre. I reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to providing immediate and sustained psychosocial support to help them navigate this trauma.
I also met with a dedicated team of mental health professionals from the Ghana Mental Health Authority to coordinate both immediate and long-term care. The team, led by Dr. Eugene K. Dordoye (CEO, Mental Health Authority), included Mr. Etornam Gblende (Regional Mental Health Director), Gertrude Lumor of Tema General Hospital, and representatives of the affected staff.
Following our discussions, it was agreed that a Parent-Teacher engagement will be held with the mental health team to further support families during this period.
My heartfelt condolences go to the bereaved family. May the souls of our departed brothers rest in perfect peace.
Together with the team, we observed a minute of silence in their honour.
We stand together as a community strong, supportive, and united
