Politics is precisely that which you cannot escape from and that which you cannot "just get along" over. If you could escape from it or get along in spite of it, it wouldn't be "political" in the first place. Is it really any surprise that Liberals, with their deep apprehension against making hard choices and unwillingness to ever alienate any political bloc out of fear of offending some hypothetical fellow liberal individual within said bloc, were largely displaced by Leftists long ago?
