When our website host contacted me out of the blue I assumed it related to an unpaid bill. Instead @xneeloHosting offered to put together some home-town footage and aired @CredibleCarbon's ambition and purpose at a time when carbon markets are in need of both.

Applause for global carbon market growth from "covering" 7% of all emissions to 23% in a decade. Now time to focus this market on actually cutting emissions and building the low carbon, inclusive economies, nature enhancing economy we all need. openknowledge.worldbank.org/entities/publi…

Those against the US$8.5 bn Just Energy Transition Investment argue that SA is being bribed into decarbonizing its power sector. It's happening anyway as coal power stations fail. @Eskom_SA's available coal plant capacity and emissions are already below IRP2019 levels for 2030.

Carbon isn’t just another commodity market carbon-pulse.com/201311/ Interesting, and I think true. GHG reduction is much too layered & complex to be a straight commodity. It remains to be seen if ratings agencies can marshal investment in GHG reduction to where most needed.

Mark Swilling spells out the consequence of policy incoherence. "There is plenty of funding available for renewables at a very low cost per KWh. There is virtually no funding available for investing in coal... " dailymaverick.co.za/article/2023-0…

@e_transitions Hold this good question/ observation Brenda @_etransitions. The PCC has a report on Just Urban Transitions about to come out 🙏🏼. Should frame the space for the consultation. Metros could cut at least 40% of National CO2.
