@HousewifePolish @theriptorn @PaulEmbery @grok It’s normal that when one gets owned, you withdraw quietly

"During the financial crisis, I wanted every moment of every day to be spent doing everything that could be done to save people’s homes, savings, pensions and jobs. That a member of the cabinet at the time was thinking more of himself and his rich friends is a betrayal of everything we stand for as a country" — Gordon Brown in tomorrow's Guardian. Peter Mandelson has always been a pernicious influence inside the Labour party, and is a disgrace to British politics more generally.

@NoFarmsNoFoods Stop treating this like it’s new, it’s being going on for decades

Gordon Brown began selling off British Gold 3 weeks after Peter Mandleson gave Epstein advanced notice.
It lost us £50bn.
Firas Modad@firasmodad
Hold on. Peter Mandelson, acting as Gordon Brown's de facto second, was giving Jeffery Epstein highly sensitive economic information on assets that the British government might sell?! This casts the sale of Britain's gold in a very different light.

@afneil I’ve been extremely patient with you, but no longe, fuck off

Can you please provide details of the billions in export and investment deals you claim to have done with China. Other than China cutting the tariff on whisky — worth a mere £250m spread over 5 years to an industry which exports over £5bn every year — I can’t find any. Where are the billions in extra UK exports and new Chinese investment in UK resulting from your trip?

Four days, two cities, countless conversations: billions in exports and investment deals for Britain.

For only one reason: they have no answer to what I am actually saying.
So they deflect and try to paint me as a bad person.
So it's not a debate about whether Rishi is English or British. It's a debate about whether you're allowed to oppose uncontrolled mass immigration or not.

A year in and the “Is Rishi English” debate is still going on…

ANALYSIS: Starmer hails the China reset a success - but not everyone (👀 Trump for starters) is convinced. Unpacking this pragmatic PM’s path and the bumps along the way

An assassin tried to murder federal agents and this is your response.
Chris Murphy 🟧@ChrisMurphyCT
1. ICE must leave Minneapolis. 2. Congress should not fund this version of ICE - that is seeking confirmation, chaos and dystopia.

Exclusive:
The United States no longer believes that Sir Keir Starmer’s deal to cede sovereignty of the Chagos Islands is in its interests and is “not going to put up with it”, Nigel Farage has said
The leader of Reform UK met Scott Bessent, the US Treasury secretary, at Davos in Switzerland last week after President Trump accused the prime minister of “weakness” over the Chagos Islands
The US originally supported the deal but Trump and Bessent signalled they were opposed to it last week amid an acrimonious row over plans to annex Greenland. The government has admitted that the deal would collapse without the US agreeing to overhaul a 60-year-old defence deal struck with Britain
Farage said: “Scott has looked at all of this and has said it’s not in our interests, it’s not in the interests of the western alliance and frankly we’re not going to put up with it
“Donald has been obsessed with the Middle East, Iran, Ukraine, you name it. This has been seen necessarily to be an item six agenda. Now it is up the agenda. They could not have been clearer about how they feel about it: they are horrified about it.”
