BREAKING: New Hampshire House just passed the "Home Education Freedom Act." The vote was 174 to 166. It removes nearly all state requirements such as compulsory reporting and government oversight. It makes New Hampshire one of the least regulated states for home education.

The NH House just passed the Home Education Freedom Act. This gives parents more autonomy over raising their children. New Hampshire will soon become the top state for homeschooling!!!

This is the perfect event for any family with kids in Manchester Public Schools. Even if you are in the minority of parents who are happy with your child's education, there are still benefits to learning about extracurriculars, tutors, and more!

Have you had recurring dreams about school? Were they pleasant or disturbing? Personally, I always liked school. But I don’t think I ever had a good dream about school. edopt.org/recurring-drea…

My top piece advice if you want to homeschool, or you’re still new to homeschooling: Find a homeschool convention near you this year. The statewide and nationwide conventions will have vendor halls with over 100 curriculum vendors, colleges, sellers of wholesome books, and extracurricular programs. The regional and city conventions will have the same thing on a smaller scale. There will be workshops for anywhere from 1-3 days that teach, encourage, and inspire moms and dads. Many of the larger conventions offer special programs for kids and teens. You’ll get to see the massive variety of homeschool curriculum available for every need and budget. You’ll get to speak to the creators, pick up the books, flip through them, and ask questions. You’ll be surrounded by likeminded people, which is so important! You’ll get discounted prices for buying in person. And you will leave with so much inspiration! I’ll be speaking at the Rocky Mountain Homeschool Conference in Denver, and the Arizona Homeschool Convention in Phoenix this summer. If you’re in those areas, come say hi! If you’re not, check your state association to see what’s in your area.

NH has a big vibrant home school community. Parental rights and control reflect our state motto. I also bought a product from this small home business at Old Home Days last summer!

The goal isn’t to “win” kindergarten. The goal is a 10-, 14-, 18-year-old who can pick up a text, make meaning, and want to keep going. The research is pretty clear: joyful exposure and language-rich routines are a better bet for that long game than simply pushing harder, earlier.
