Bridge has been awesome this spring. Lots of creek hangs now that it’s nice. Stell got her first crawfish. Plus the steps are great box step ups

The bridge is done! Very exciting. Few final touches maybe but it’ll be operational tomorrow. Definitely homemade but pretty fired up. Took about 6 months from laying the foundation to last stone today. Long project, will be super fun to have for the yard.

maybe already been said but strategy seemed to be more going after a singular decision maker (Altman) or v small group to influence, vs trying to inform the masses.

Everyone will point to "NIL has ruined March" & "Chalk Madness" after the first round.
I think its partially true if told properly but its not that simple.
BAD: B2B years of no 13+ seeds winning a game, 13 of 32 games decided by 20+ (most ever), Friday first day in R64 history with no double digit seed winning (Santa Clara though lol)
Did have non powers win - High Point (12), VCU (11), SLU (9), Utah State (9). So what if they go on insane runs? The issue though is all 4 of those teams are the elite of mid major ball. Big NIL budgets, known great programs.
Now yes, first time ever with B2B years no 13+ seeds winning. Other years: 2004, 2007, 2017, 2025. It DOES happen... But what about Furman & Siena, Wright State & Hofstra in their games?
The games have been objectively better than last year. Santa Clara/UK, VCU/UNC, Furman/UConn, High Point/Wisco. AND we have Texas, Texas A&M, UCLA, Miami want to make "dark horse" runs.
So is mid major Cinderella dead? Not entirely its been 2 years of more chalk that HAS happened in the past. But the standard for a mid major team winning in March might have increased bc of NIL investment & the portal and I don't love that for the majority of teams in the sport.
Let's talk after R32 is over. Hopefully it gives us fun today & tomorrow!

As you realize the college sports you grew up with doesn’t exist anymore, it hits you that it may have all been a facade. The reason these teams below existed was largely to players being exploited with no ability to make money & punished for transferring. NIL introduced….cream rises to the top. In 2012 a guy who fell through the cracks in recruiting would spend 4 years at a mid major and develop there…not anymore. 80% of those players trickle up to make the major conference teams that were losing in 2008 better in 2026. College sports was prob better in 2010 but it was due to a model that unequivocally ripped off athletes. I am open to being wrong here, but the game has changed forever and what we watched years ago was fake.
