I want to say Thank You to everyone for all your messages of support and generosity. It gives me and my family a huge amount of strength in a time of sadness for us. I will meet this challenge head on. Ultimately I can’t win but I will fight with everything. Hope is not lost.

I am really upset to hear Matt Gallagher passed away at the weekend. He was a good friend who I had gotten to know after his diagnosis with MND. This picture is from last year when our two football teams played each other. His beloved Blues, Birmingham City against my club Charlton. Tough night for England, scenes for Italy! Chessum has to start whenever available, and that's not to say Coles doesn't because he worked his nuts off but Chessum has got that presence that not many have. It's going to be a big test for the senior players in the squad to try and turn this round. I hope they can do it because they have a lot of quality in that team.
