Not a tax guy, but can't we just set up companies to trade through, and it gets taxed at 25% (if <50m turnover and trading as a business) or 30% (if >50m turnover and/or investing as a business), both ST and LT gains. Compound in that vehicle for x years....

Selling stale #ASX holdings and shifting into US stocks more aggressively. Aiming for lower- mid valuations, growth, tech with a couple of the big names also. Tired of wasting time and watching the US stocks race north.

@strongmoneyaus Did the same thing 1-2 months back, slapped the cash into the highest interest rate account we could find & now debating our next move whilst happily watching the interest accumulate with the stock market drifting and property takes a breather.

Our investment property just settled. Agent reckons we may have sold just in time + market has slowed in the last 4-6 weeks. Maybe people are sitting on their hands to see what happens with these budget changes? We're now sitting on a pile of cash like Scrooge McDuck 😁

@wally_waldo83 @toy59496 What about countries in Europe that don’t have the property price valuations screaming like Australia? Their house prices, especially when compared to price of gold will it look like this at all.

no it wasn't normalised. I’ve added it below from 1975, using the house price series divided by the gold price, then indexed to 1975 = 100 from which consistent gold price data is available. It’s not perfect because it uses a broad residential price series rather than a pure detached house only series, but it still shows the point that nominal house prices tell one story while houses priced against hard money tell a more nuanced one.

M3 Money Supply vs Home Growth Whenever you look at the price of something always remember it is fiat. For example the gold price has not gone up, the value of your money has gone down, and the future value of that money is anticipated to go down further. That is a major reason why gold is high. In regards to property let's look at the M3 money supply since the initial change of the CGT. Food for thought.

@Filapek Those US tech related stocks are showing a lot of strength, looking irresistible but at the same time creating questions around how long can this run last before something sends it toppling down?

@michaeljbeamish It’s the 1% skills and habits that make all the difference at professional level, I’d put tackling techniques into that category for sure.

@ryu_tay @toy59496 I think over time One Nation will creep up its Federal political power, it will probably take at least two election cycles to get close to the balance of power but we only have to look globally at how people are voting to see the future.

What makes a Labor Voter keep on Voting Labor? afr.com//politics/fede… I'm struggling with how people can still vote for Labor. They are still in power in Victoria for example despite their skill in bankrupting the state and facilitating uncontrolled crime. And yet people keep voting for them. Again and again and again. I think we need a forensic analysis of why, so we can properly counter a government that wants to reconstruct our society into a socialist centralised state supported by debt that will be paid by future generations. To facilitate this the public service has increased by 26% since Albanese was voted PM. That does not include the vast taxpayer supported industry that is the NDIS of which half a million people (!) are either directly or indirectly involved with no audit requirement. How can people, especially young people, possibly think this is reasonable? We need answers to those questions. So with that in mind there was an interesting article in the AFR the other day showing the redistribution of seats if an election were held today. The very surprising thing for me is that most of One Nation seats would be picked up from the Liberals and Nationals. Which means the majority of Labor seats would be returned despite some pretty horrible policies. How could that possibly be the case? I think particularly young people need to be shown the insanity of the current spending programs. Basically we will soon have a trillion dollars in debt primarily directed at social programs like NDIS that server a minority of Australians that will be paid for with a huge amount of interest given inflation by future generations that will get NO benefit from that spend. Young people don't seem to realise that every policy the government does erodes intergenerational equity. I'm not going to be paying for that future debt, they are... Meanwhile those same young people are having their options in terms of generating a home deposit undermined by the government confiscating even more methods of creating wealth (eg with equities) and not providing ANY benefit in personal marginal taxation rates in return. It's just a straight grab of money. No qid pro quo. Nothing. Nada. And yet they vote for them. Young women in particular have been programmed in these policies, I even see it in the younger members of my own broader family. I find it disturbing as the inevitably of the future seems to be absent from their calculations. It's like I have no mouth and yet I must scream.

@toy59496 @ryu_tay Genuine Australians LOL. No, they are “I’m alright Jack” Australians. They want access to all the support & opportunities we offer but want to shut the gate on others having the same opportunities.

And a lot of them are genuine Australians, have made this place their home, are proud of it, and support sovereignty. It doesn't matter where they are born It's where they make their home and what they believe. They are probably as aghast as we are with things like bringing home the ISIS brides. They were probably clapping as westerners had their heads chopped off.

@ryu_tay @toy59496 I wouldn’t bet on migrants not voting One Nation. Definitely some will never vote that way, but others will say “I’m in Australia now, you can shut the gate to others” if it benefits their interests.

RBC Capital on Guzman Y Gomez $GYG: "Segment underlying EBITDA has come in marginally ahead of RBCe and in line with consensus, which we view as a positive in light of soft macro impacting QSR operators more broadly. "32 gross openings guidance re-iterated is positive, and the rollout remains on track which is the key element that underpins GYG's earnings growth over the next few years. "On the US exit, we published a US exit scenario yesterday (relating to FY28) where we highlighted +15% upside potential to FY28 NPAT. "The potential impact to FY27 from the exit on an underlying basis (ignoring exit costs) on our base case assumptions could be a +20% increase to FY27E NPAT, and could raise our NPAT CAGR FY25 - FY30 from 45.4% to 47.7%. "We view the exit as a positive. On current unit economics, we believe the US business had very low prospects of being successful, and the losses of the business were weighing down the earnings of the group so the sooner exit than anticipated is positive. "We did not forecast the US business to break even until FY37, hence the potential impact to our DCF valuation is a positive on balance." #stockinfocus #XJO #equities #investing

Okay this is getting CRAZY. SpaceX pre-IPO is closing in on $1,000 a share. Elon Musk is about to become the world's first MULTI-TRILLIONAIRE. Let that sink in. Not a millionaire. Not a billionaire. Not even a trillionaire. A MULTI-TRILLIONAIRE. He owns roughly 42% of the equity. 79-85% voting control depending on share class. This IPO will be WILD. Follow me to stay up to date.

This is INSANE! 🇺🇸 ELON MUSK IS ABOUT TO BECOME THE FIRST TRILLIONAIRE IN HUMAN HISTORY. SpaceX pre-IPO is closing in on $900 a share. Elon owns roughly 42% of the equity. 79–85% voting control depending on share class. At this price, he doesn't just cross a trillion. He blows past it. The world's first trillionaire is about to be minted in real time.
