NEW - we’ve had exclusive access to police raids on high street barber shops and mini marts across England. The @NCA_UK suspect some are linked to organised crime gangs. The BBC found the majority were staffed by Kurds from Iraq and iran - some working here illegally.

The BBC has seen email logs and intelligence reports that claim children as young as 11 were at risk of child sexual exploitation in High Street mini-marts. The council reports were repeatedly raised with West Midlands police over the past 10 years. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

'The damage on Union St in Glasgow is staggering, all because of a High Street vape shop fire. The B-listed building was constructed in 1851 and pre-dates Glasgow Central Station itself, which opened in 1879. All destroyed. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Have been too shattered to write this but for the sake of clarity — I have also been laid off by the Post. I was one of the few journalists still working inside Russia. My last story went on the front page and featured rare testimonies from wounded soldiers criticizing the war.
