Turning lights off after goals is terrible for several reasons. Part of the excitement of goals is seeing the emotion of players/fans. Turning lights off kills that. It's bad in the arenas, 10 times worse on broadcasts. And then there's this, which absolutely can't happen.

I still can’t believe this happened.

@SchlossmanGF Sometimes on a broadcast, I need to see the player skate a couple of strides to be certain who it is. I've been to places where they start it immediately and you can't see at all. And I have broadcast games where it has been done on a non-goal like this.
