Whenever I write about long-covid or ME, I get waves of emails from chronically ill folk who feel seen/heard. But with this piece, I'm *also* hearing from healthy people saying they finally get what their loved ones are going through. Which feels amazing. theatlantic.com/health/archive…

I'd always hoped these pieces could function in this way, that they'd act as an empathy bridge--a tool that long-haulers could use to open up conversations with dismissive, skeptical, or well-intentioned-but-confused people in their circles.

@TaylorLorenz Some aspects of the pandemic are so cyclical that I feel I've already said everything I need to say. But long COVID, ME/CFS et al. will continue to be part of my work. Folks are in it for the long-haul, and so am I.
