My analyst sent me a lovely gift certificate for my favorite day spa.
It’s a belated Mother’s Day gift to make up for the fact that I had to wake up with the children, cook them breakfast, and take them to church by myself because someone was playing golf all morning.
I checked the calendar and the only day @alt_w_v_g has free to watch the children is June 21, so I’m taking advantage of it.
I’m sure he’ll enjoy an extended time of bonding with his offspring.
My first treatment starts at 9 am.

It’s summer.
I’m chasing children all day.
Nap time has gone the way of the dodo.
By the time I sit down for dinner, I’m exhausted.
Then I do the dishes, and the bedtime routine is not short.
On a lucky night, everyone’s had a bath before dinner.
That’s at least an hour.
I’m tired.
But I know I won’t have these nights forever.
Before I know it, they won’t want the bedtime stories.
So I relish every minute that they’re still little.
