Elvezio Grassi’s fabulously weird 1936 Haiti Cocktail: Campari, sweet and dry vermouths, rum (supposed to be Demerara, I had Jamaica 🤷🏻♂️) and Ferro China Bisleri, flavored with iron citrate. Only tastes a little like blood; otherwise quite pleasant.

My mom Jan died today. She was a dedicated children's librarian who impacted countless kids. She was not particularly successful professionally and most of her work went unnoticed. But it still mattered.
