We are on the cusp of victory.
Great global solidarity for justice, yesterday.
The humanity and dignity of our ancestors and all Africans shall be restored.
Today the United Nations votes on Ghana’s Resolution to affirm what cannot be denied, twisted or silenced — that the transatlantic slave trade is the gravest crime against humanity.

Day 17: Ghana Blooms
Ghana does not have an officially designated national flower or tree. But two plants,
commonly found around Ghana, capture something essential about the country.
The Flame of the Forest (Spathodea campanulata) announces itself with colour and presence—bold, expansive, and unmistakable.
The Impala Lily (Adenium obesum) speaks more quietly—resilient, sculptural, thriving even in difficult conditions. Together, they offer a simple but powerful reflection:
Nations, like nature, express strength in different ways. Some through visibility.
Others through endurance.
Ghana, at 69, embodies both.

An amazing discovery in Kyrgyzstan.
I found out a Ghanaian by name Joel Kojo is the star striker in the Kyrgyz national team.
This came to light during our bilateral meetings when the Kyrgyz President and Foreign Minister both disclosed that Joel was their favorite footballer and a national hero.
Joel Kojo was apparently encouraged to switch nationality to play for the Kyrgyz national team known as the White Falcons.
Joel Kojo received an award as the best Kyrgyz player in 2025 and is also the nation’s all time best scorer. He was exceptionally instrumental in qualifying them for the Asian Cup.
Another much talked about Ghanaian, Emmanuel Yaghr plays in the Kyrgyz local league.
Following the pleasant revelations during our bilateral meetings yesterday, I requested to meet the two celebrated players today, and it was beautifully arranged.
I am grateful to the Kyrgyz Football Association for the efficient facilitation, warm reception and the customized Kyrgyz national team jersey.
And guess what: Joel Kojo surprised me by disclosing that he is originally a constituent from Juapong in my beloved North Tongu. Small world indeed!
Both countries have agreed to pursue bilateral cooperation in football development.
Proud of these young Ghanaians and the growing Ghanaian community in Kyrgyzstan.

Over the weekend, I paid a courtesy call on the Overlord of the Dagbaŋ Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Ya-Naa Abukari Mahama II, and the Yoo-Naa, His Royal Majesty Abdulai Yakubu Andani.
The visit was primarily to express my heartfelt appreciation to the Ya-Naa and the Yoo-Naa for their immense support, particularly for sending a distinguished delegation to join the delegation of Chiefs from Asogli, Akpini, Anlo State, Avenor, and the Volta Regional House of Chiefs, among others, who stood with me during my vetting in Parliament about a year ago. That show of solidarity and confidence remains deeply humbling.
I was accompanied by family, friends, the NDC Chairman for Savelugu Constituency, Alhaji Sasa, the Volta Regional Zongo Caucus Coordinator of the NDC, Hajia Hawa Tahiru, and Hon. Samed Gunu, former MP for the Savelugu Constituency. The visit also followed the successful performance of the funeral rites of the late Savelugu Gunu, Gunu Yiri II, and the coronation of his successor, Alhaji Alhassan Abdulai Gunu, at the Yo-Barigu Palace. I also had the opportunity to have an inspection tour of the new Gbewaa Palace, currently under construction.
The engagements reaffirmed the values of unity, respect, and continuity that bind our traditional institutions and our people together.
May Allah bless the reign of MBA Gunu Alhassan II with wisdom, peace, and prosperity.

My key lesson for 2025. Don't over calculate. Don't over strategise. Just take the risk. God is the ultimate calculator-the ultimate strategist.

If you are unsure of a course of action, do not attempt it.
Your doubts and hesitations will infect your execution.
Timidity is dangerous: Better to enter with boldness.
Any mistakes you commit through audacity are easily corrected with more audacity.
Everyone admires the bold; no one honors the timid.

Spent Boxing Day with widows in my beloved constituency.
They all went home with food items including rice, oil, milk, milo, canned fish, biscuits; assorted soft drinks; wax print fabrics; blenders and electric irons.
God bless all widows and the aged — you occupy a special place in our hearts.

It has always been the dream of Mr. Oriel Chinthaka Ariyaratna Paiyagala Linyanage, a locally recruited driver at Ghana’s embassy in France to one day visit Ghana for the first time after serving Ghana’s embassy in Paris as representational driver for 41 long years.
His dream became a reality when we surprised him with an all expenses paid trip to Ghana and awarded him for his dedicated service to Ghana for more than four decades during our carols service.
Oriel’s sponsored trip to Ghana is part of his award which comes with visits to tourist attractions, gifts and a cash prize.
Originally from Sri Lanka, Oriel was recruited on 8th September, 1984. His late father was also a driver for many years at our embassy in France and never had the opportunity to visit Ghana.
I wish to also celebrate the following incredibly dedicated Ghanaian locally recruited staff who also received similar awards:
Mr. Evans Aryeequaye Attoh — serving as driver in our Rome embassy for 36 years;
Mrs. Caroline Nkrumah-Appiah — serving in our New York mission as a stenographer for 35 years; and
Mr. Philip Twum Nkansah — serving in our Rome embassy as an Accounts Assistant for 35 years.
The Ministry has established this new long-service and best performing staff award scheme for locally recruited colleagues of our diplomatic missions abroad to motivate, deepen inclusivity and promote productivity. It shall be held annually.
It is worth noting that home-based staff of the Foreign Service do have a distinct existing award scheme.
Congratulations to you all — Ghana values your contributions.
For God and Country 🇬🇭 🙏🏾
