@DeasyPamela @HorganRoberta I still remember my dad’s stress as he applied for a discretionary medical card for my mom over 20 years ago when she received a stage 4 diagnosis. It should have been immediate and automatic - she was only going to need it for a few months.

@HorganRoberta when you hear the words ‘you have cancer’ and when you are trying to process what is happening, #medicalcard is the last thing on your mind! There needs to be easier access and to help reduce the #financialtoxicity from families at a time when their world is upside down!

Support Ainés call for automatic entitlement to a #MedicalCard upon a cancer diagnosis. We should be doing all we can to alleviate the financial toxicity for people who are just trying to survive and live as best they can during the most difficult of times cancer.ie/petition
