Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs cautions that the notice in circulation claiming that Ghanaians have been asked to leave Cambodia is FAKE.
Cambodian authorities have confirmed to us that they have issued no such notice. The Cambodian Ministry of Interior has proceeded to issue a press clarification today stating that the purported notice is “completely untrue” (see attached).
I can, however, assure Ghanaians that prior to the publication of this fake notice, a number of Ghanaians in Cambodia had reached out to us requesting to be evacuated, and are already being assisted by the Foreign Ministry and our High Commission in Malaysia.
Between March and May this year, we have evacuated 85 Ghanaians from Cambodia. 76 more are being evacuated to complete the exercise.
The welfare of Ghanaians anywhere in the world remains our priority.
For God and Country 🇬🇭 🙏🏾

Trending News: Ghana has officially exited the IMF bailout programme after successfully concluding the negotiations on the Extended Credit Facility (ECF) agreement with the IMF.
For me personally, this is a testament to the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama. The discipline and integrity of the approach to economic governance have been phenomenal. Regular meetings with the IMF and the leaders of the implementing authorities of Ghana’s economic policy have paid good dividends.
Let me commend, my brothers, the Finance Minister @AtoCassielForson, the Governor of the Central Bank, and the good people of Ghana for the confidence you have all reposed in the leadership of @JDMahama and all the other experts working assiduously on stabilising the economy.
For me a stable economy and a consistent currency are two of the most valuable qualities of a healthy economy and so far Ghana is doing well.
Kudos to government.

@MarcWatkinsEsq A fully qualified barrister of England and Wales, will have some sort of right to do legal work in for example Scotland but can’t demand right of audience to Scottish courts. Before Brexit, qualified lawyers could automatically work in EU countries but it’s much more limited now.
English

@Edmalawer I'm assuming your license will be just for England & Wales as you wrote, so if you wanted to work in other parts of the UK you'd have to get licenses there too?
English

Congrats! What bar are you taking?

And just like that, I am a whole LAW GRADUATE. ⚖️👩🏾⚖️ I’ve added a third degree to my list of degrees and it’s a LAW degree.
English

@Edmalawer Stunning and powerful. Go change the world!
English

@MarcWatkinsEsq Barristers. Although, some solicitors can go to the Magistrate’s Courts.
English

@MarcWatkinsEsq No, not at all. It’s a good question to ask because in England and Wales, you have to study two different qualification courses to either qualify as a solicitor or a barrister. I am doing the Bar so I’ll be a barrister.
English

@Edmalawer Oh wow. Ok. Good luck!!
Excuse my ignorance but will you be a "solicitor" or "barrister"?

@4600BC @iamMELMAK @metrotvgh And when you pay for yours, do pay for you wife’s to be done too. Switching babies at birth is equally a problem in the healthcare sector.
English

@iamMELMAK @metrotvgh Don’t worry about it sweetheart, we the men will pay so play your cards well now.

@thulasv @S_OkudzetoAblak I think it will be easier to ask South Africans who are in Ghana doing the same thing. What do you think?
English

@S_OkudzetoAblak I love and respect Ghanaians . That said,I always ask myself why track 1000s km to sell potatoes in the streets when you can do that in your home country.

I have this morning held a telephone conversation with my South African counterpart, His Excellency Ronald Lamola, Minister of International Relations and Cooperation. I called him on the trending videos about Ghanaians coming under extremely disturbing xenophobic attacks in South Africa.
The South African Foreign Minister has expressed his empathy with the victims and promised full scale investigations into the depressing incidents.
The Government of South Africa is set to hold a briefing with African Ambassadors later today.
I am also able to confirm that since yesterday, I have been in constant contact with Ghana’s High Commissioner in South Africa, His Excellency Benjamin Quarshie, coordinating our response.
I am gladdened that so far colleagues in our diplomatic mission have located the main victim in the viral video and are offering consular assistance. He is doing very well.
No Ghanaian life has been lost. We urge calm and confidence in our collective capacity to protect Ghanaians.
Let me assure compatriots that the Mahama Administration remains uncompromising about the welfare and safety of Ghanaians both home and abroad. We are determined to guarantee the protection of all citizens.
May these regrettable incidents never quench our Pan-African love and solidarity for each other. The overwhelming majority of Africans are united and share an unbreakable bond — we shall not be divided by the hatred of a few fringe elements.

@theboahen @JDMahama Ibrahim Traoré recently stated that they had no issue with France and France were not their enemy. All they want is for France to treat them as equals by establishing win/win opportunities.
English

@JDMahama Won’t look good to AES, especially Burkina. But who cares, Burkina took a health deal from the US too. African leaders will shout “the West is against us” in the morning, then sign aid agreements by evening. Anti-West by speech, pro-West by budget. Lala su lala nations 😅
English

Ghana and France continue to deepen our relations on all fronts, and I am grateful for the honour to co-chair the One Health Summit in Lyon where I laid out the objectives of the Accra Reset initiative within the framework of the One Health agenda.
Today’s meetings with President Emmanuel Macron and the President of the French Senate further demonstrate the shared values of our two countries. Ghana is delighted to be selected as the first beneficiary of France’s health compact.

@protusonyango @ESPNAfrica @YuriBaraza You must be joking because there’s no way your comprehension skills are that low.
English

@ESPNAfrica @YuriBaraza For the first time ever, is a pure lie. You are lying to the audience. Verify your source or do more research to get facts right. South Africa has even hosted the world cup. How can it now play for the first time ever
